“So, the Boto Brothers grew up close to the Amazon?”

“They did. And I'm unsure of who was named first, the Amazon River dolphin or them.”

“What about the blow holes on their forehead? Is that true or just part of the legend?”

“I've seen them. They’re three inches above their eyebrows.” I pointed to her needles. “If they act up, throw a needle in the blow hole. it should put them out faster than hitting their skin.”

“Is their skin tough?”

“Very. Tougher than mine. That's why I have Soul-Breaker.”

“But, Azar. We can't kill them.”

“There are at least five Boto Brothers that I've met, but there are many more.”

Fatou shook her head. “I didn't know it was so many.”

“Adae thinks it's only a few, but my time with them showed me that there are several brothers.”

Fatou blew out a long breath.

“Don't worry. We'll deal with them.”

Minutes later, we arrived and left the taxi.

Adrenaline pumped in my veins.

The harbor at dawn was a living, breathing being, smelling of the sea and fish, a heart beating with the promise of life, commerce, and adventure. Noisy cranes lifted and lowered crates and goods onto the ships. Beautiful vessels filled the harbor—each painted and branded with different flags and banners. They were shiny and glimmering, and bobbed in the water like ducks.

Humans walked around. Some worked. Others appeared to be heading out to fish.

The sun glistened off the waves, turning the water into a sparkling sea of diamonds.

The warm, briny flavor of the sea landed on my tongue.

Fatou strolled alongside me. The wind blew through her dreadlocks, lifting them up in the air for a few seconds.

Sunlight shined on her beautiful face. The desire to run my fingers across her flesh pulsed within me. I needed to explore the parts of her body I hadn’t yet tasted.

Where there even places that I hadn't explored?

Fatou’s sexual arousal and Ferkos's blast of church energy had filled me to the rim. It was the first time my appetite had been completely quenched.

No longer having a continuous hunger for sexual energy, I now just wanted to taste Fatou for my own enjoyment.

We continued through the harbor, searching for the Boto Brothers' yacht.

Waves crashed against the rocks below the docks. Instantly, I thought that it would have been nice to make love to her in this ocean and watch the multi-colored tropical fish flutter by us as I entered her.

Grinning, I brushed my fingers against her arm.

She said nothing and continued to look forward as she walked and cleared her throat. Yet, her heartbeats increased. The rhythmic organ pounded in my ears.

I smirked, knowing my touch was the reason for her heart’s rapid pace.

She snapped her face toward me. “Remove the smirk, please.”

“Or what?” I rushed toward her in a blur.

She stopped.

I pressed my lips near the point of her ear. “Are you going to ride your pussy into my face?” I nibbled at the tender point. “Until you cum in my mouth?”

She moved out of my reach.

I got hard just thinking about her pussy on my tongue.

“Azar.” She stepped around me and strolled off. “You’re not taking this seriously?”

“Of course I am. Fatou, forgive me. These days with you. . .have been entertaining. . .in fact. . .they've made me tipsy.”

“I'm sure you've had more interesting weeks in the all the years that you've lived.”

“These memories with you will keep a smile on my face for a long time.” I grinned. “And, I'm excited to make more memories with you.”

Her heartbeats increased more.

Does that make you nervous, Hunter?

She walked faster.

My eyes followed the curve of her ass, loving the way the bodysuit clung to it.

Then, suddenly, the fragrance of Demons hit me. It was the citrus odor of a lemon peel and overripe flowers merged with the stank of people dying and wet, blackish rot.

I abruptly stopped on the ramp. “I smell Demons. . .but I'm not sure if it is the Boto Brothers. This is different.”

“What do the Boto Brothers smell like?”

“Like Demons but with a hint of muddy river water and cheap suits.”

Skepticism covered her face. “Cheap suits?”

“I'm serious.” I checked where the scent came from. “The smell is further down the harbor, but again. . .this doesn't exactly remind me of them. What do you want to do?”

She twisted her lips and looked that way. “I still want to see if it's them.”

I frowned. “If Ferkos lied, I will kill him.”

“And I will help.” She turned back to me. “Since we’re close, I was thinking that we should have a plan for the Boto Brothers just in case Ferkos warned them.”

“What plan?”

“Last night, Ferkos said that they ordered a creature.” She touched her chest. “I could arrive as that order and—”

“No.” An unfamiliar feeling twisted in my stomach as I thought of the brothers catching her scent. I wasn’t sure what the sensation was, but it had been a long time since I’d experienced it.
