Standing up, he cupped her cheek and then kissed her hard, knowing he was never going to get a second chance again.
Chapter Nine
One Week Later
Nate was doing everything he could to avoid having sex with her. At first, Molly could accept it. She even enjoyed it. They didn’t not do stuff with each other. The first time he’d driven her to orgasm, and when she turned the tables on him and took his cock into her mouth, it felt like a real victory. He’d guided her to what he liked, and she had loved watching him come completely undone.
They did this for three nights.
On the fourth night, he cooked dinner and ate enough pasta that Molly didn’t feel she could move. On the fifth night, they had dinner with Randy and Bethany, and he volunteered them to be babysitters for the fifth, sixth, and even seventh night.
Now, she knew what game he was trying to play, as she overheard him talking to Randy. She could be a little upset with him, or she could see what he was doing as very sweet, kind, and caring. Molly had decided to believe he was being sweet because he didn’t want to hurt her.
“Look, man, I need this. I want Molly, we just need some time, and I’m not going to tell you why. You’re getting free babysitters, and I get Molly.”
He wasn’t about to tell Randy that she had been a virgin, nor was he willing to let her go. That, to her, was sweet.
They didn’t have the kind of relationship she wrote about, because the truth was, real life was messy, and stuff happened. Life got in the way. However, knowing he was trying to avoid hurting her, Molly had come up with a plan. She was bringing her book world and real world together.
While Nate finished his work, and was due to arrive at seven, she’d spent most of the day preparing.
The lights were turned down low, and she had the heat on, because Fall had well and truly captured the season now. She was dressed in a red negligee that was so sheer, he would be able to see through it. The curtains were closed, but that wasn’t unusual seeing as it was dark outside already.
Glancing around the room, she knew Nate was going to arrive any minute. The only light was the glow of the candles.
She had pushed all the furniture out of the way, including the coffee table and chairs. She’d thrown a rug onto the floor, and the whole vibe was one she could work with. It screamed seduction and sex.
Now, all she had to do was wait.
She lay on the rug as soon as she heard the bike roaring onto her driveway. He wanted her to take a ride with him, and she would, eventually. Bikes kind of scared her, as did cars. She loved walking, there was nothing better for her as it also gave her such inspiration.
The front door opened, as she’d given him a key.
“Fuck me, it is freezing,” he said.
This made her smile. She loved the way he talked, the words he said.
The door closed, and she heard the lock flick into place, and then there was a second pause.
“Molly?”
“In here,” she said.
She was so nervous, but this time he was not getting out of it. Yes, when he took her virginity it had been painful, and it was not an experience she wanted to repeat, but she also wasn’t pissed off about him leaving. It had been a disaster, and all women’s first times were difficult. She accepted that.
But what she also accepted was it got better after that first time. She wrote all about it, and women loved to have sex. The last person she wanted to think about was Rachael, but it was kind of hard not to when the other woman was the primary candidate for saying it like it was.
Molly wanted sex. She wanted to be with Nate.
She didn’t want him to be afraid of what he wanted.
He stepped into the doorway, and the moment he did, she smiled. “Evening,” she said.
“Molly, what is going on?” he asked.
“Well, you see, I kind of want us to have sex,” she said.
“You know, I got these real juicy steaks in the freezer, and I think we should eat something first.”
She stood up and removed her negligee. It was held together by two ties at the shoulders, and she stared at him as it fell to the floor. Now, she stood before him naked, and she waited.
Her stomach felt like it had butterflies fluttering inside. She felt so nervous, but she ignored it and looked at him, waiting.
“You could have those steaks if you want,” she said, putting her hands on her shoulders. “But I can think of something else you and I can do instead, because I’m not hungry.”
