When I turned the phone back to me, I could see Jourdanne’s eyes were lit up.
“Wow, that looks incredible. I wish I was there with you.”
“I do too. Hey, maybe your sugar daddies can treat you to some place similar. Maybe even more exotic and luxurious.”
“That would be a dream!” She giggled.
I sat down on the reading bench next to the window. “Oh, I miss you so much. How is life with the guys anyway?”
“Oh, it’s incredible. There’s always something new coming up and events and places to go.”
I leaned back and thought about giving Jourdanne more of a tour, but I didn’t want to see anyone yet. “I would show you more of the hotel, but I don’t want to bump into my new brothers right now.”
“What? I thought you said that they were totally gorgeous last time we talked.”
“Yeah, and that’s the problem. They are super irresistible, and I shouldn’t be thinking like that. We’re family now.”
Jourdanne giggled. “Don’t be so stiff. I don’t see any problem with you finding your new brothers attractive. I mean, from what you said they totally are.”
I brought the phone closer as I spoke quieter. “Yeah, but that’s the problem. I don’t know how to say this, but I have already crossed the line with Damien. I feel so stupid for doing it and now I feel like I’m hiding it from everyone.” I covered my face with my free hand and shook my head. “I mean, I don’t even know if he’s told his brothers yet.”
“Parvati, what did you do?”
I moaned. “Damien and I got a little too close at the pub back home just before the wedding. To my defense, I had no idea who he was.”
“How close?” Jourdanne was walking through her home as we spoke. Here, she plopped onto her couch and waited for me to explain.
“Um…” I covered my face again as I mumbled, “He fingered me.”
“Oh!”
“I know, it’s terrible.”
“No way! You’re not blood related. You guys are grown adults making your own decisions. What’s the harm?”
“Yeah, but don’t you think it’s strange? That it’s probably something my mom will freak out about?”
Jourdanne shrugged. “I can’t really say, but I know she would want you to be happy. Just like how you wanted her to be happy by getting married to Danforth. You didn’t agree with it, but it seems to be working out well for you.”
Yeah, working out well. “Oh, and the best part is, I’m sharing a room with Daniel, the older one. He’s super attractive, and totally the kind of guy you would find shopping at your local grocery store. Rugged, put together, successful. Like he knows what he wants, and he goes after it.”
“How delicious!”
“Stop it or you’re gonna get me thinking things I shouldn’t think.”
Jourdanne giggled again, this time covering her mouth with her hands as her nose scrunched. “You really are hilarious. You don’t have to worry so much about what other people think. I mean, look at me. I’m having the time of my life with two guys who were in a very happy relationship with each other. No one can judge you for finding certain people attractive, and even if it’s taboo, it doesn’t mean that it’s necessarily wrong.”
She was right. Attraction was basic, I couldn’t control it. “You always know exactly what to say to make me feel better.”
“That’s what friends are for.”
“Well, I am super happy that you are my friend and I hope that me and the guys can build a good friendship too.”
“Or maybe something more?”
“Seriously, if you were here, I’d be throwing pillows at you.”
“So, what do you have planned for the week?”
“Honestly, I’m not sure. There’s an itinerary and a whole bunch of events, but my mom also told me that it wasn’t too big of a deal if I decide to sit some of the things out. She wants me to be comfortable and have a good experience, and to take a much-needed vacation from work.”
“Yes, you do deserve that.”
“Well, I should go get dressed. I don’t know what’s planned for today, but I did see a beautiful pool on the first floor, and there was a tiki bar just outside.”
“Okay, I realize there’s a time difference and all, but what time is it there, seriously?” She laughed.
I smiled back, saying, “Hey, when in Rome.”

PARVATI
After getting dressed, I looked over the various things that I wanted to do for the day. Since my mom said it was up to me whether I’d tag along with her and Danforth, I decided to see what was all available before I made my choice.
Hawaii was incredibly gorgeous. It was hard to choose just one thing to do because I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to fit everything in. There was hiking along the mountainside near waterfalls and next to exotic plants, and there was the beach with gorgeous palm trees and glistening white sands, and of course I could just lounge out by the pool and have some drinks at the tiki bar.
