Daddy Elias’s mouth twitched. “I…I didn’t realize gag reflexes could work like that but there is no reason I would ever try to make you eat asparagus. You do have to eat a variety of vegetables to be healthy but I don’t want you to get sick.”

Good.

“Did a Daddy try to make you eat that?” Daddy Elias’s eyes got wide when I nodded. “Really?”

“He said good boys ate trees and he said I couldn’t get up from the table until my weird trees were gone but they were squishy and bigger than yucky.” I shivered thinking about the yucky weird trees. “They’re not like broccoli trees. He didn’t believe me.”

“I will believe you if you tell me the vegetable is too yucky to eat.” Daddy Elias looked like he wanted to shiver too. “We’ll make sure to have those kinds of vegetables on our limits list too.”

Oh, that was a good idea.

“You’ll have to make sure I know your favorite vegetables too.” He looked like that made him happier. “I want you to have fun eating dinner.”

“I like fun. I like cucumbers and I like bell peppers and I like carrots…even mushy ones…and I…I like broccoli with sauce on it. I’m a good eater.” I was a good boy. “Oh, I even eat spinach in soup or if you mix it with noodles. But it gets in my teeth.”

Daddy Elias smiled. “Thank you for giving me such a good list. But—”

I knew.

I knew.

“But if you forget I have to tell you.” Ha. I remembered. “I’ll be a good helper and tell you if you give me plain broccoli.”

Daddy Elias wanted to laugh but he didn’t. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.” I had good manners and I was a good helper.

I was going to tell him that and make sure he knew all my good stuff but I got distracted. By Dally. He just showed up like magic.

“Let me sit. I have to check on you.” Checking on me meant Dally had to share my chair too…just because. “Oh, you got snacks. Good job being a Daddy.”

Dally was proud of Daddy Elias and gave him a big smile, but he didn’t forget about me. “Are you being a good boy or a good sub?”

Oh.

“Um, a good…” Had Daddy realized I wasn’t that big?

“He’s being a good boy but we’re talking about big stuff and little stuff.” Daddy Elias looked proud of me and not nervous at all. He was so smart. He knew I wasn’t big.

“Great.” Dally was proud of us too. “Are you telling him about your little limits like no asparagus? Did you tell him about your big limit of nothing painful up your butt?”

“Yes and no.” We were taking our time. “I told him about no asparagus and he won’t make me vomit. He’s nice.”

“That’s great.” Dally patted my head. “But make sure he knows he can hurt your bottom but not to put anything painful up your butt. Some people are just weird.”

They were.

“I’ll remember. It’s on my list and Daddy Elias wants to see my list because he’s going to learn to be a Daddy. He knows the important stuff already, though.” He even knew being called a Daddy was something to smile over. “He’s really smart.”

“Victor said he was and he said he wouldn’t hurt your butt.” Dally was relieved about that but Daddy groaned. “Do you have vodka in your juice? How many drinks have you had?”

“No and no grown-up drinks. Just juice.”

“So you haven’t been oversharing? Good.” Dally patted my head again. “That makes you nervous.”

“I know but I’ve just been helpful.” I hadn’t even told Daddy Elias that I was wondering what he looked like without his shirt…or his pants. “We’ve talked about food stuff and toys and cartoons.”

“Little toys or grown-up ones? Did you tell him about your big ones?” Dally smiled when I shook my head. “Good, he doesn’t need to know about your monsters and stuff like that.”

“Yep.” We were just talking about regular stuff.

“Okay, I’m going to go have fun telling people about themselves. I’ll come back and get you when I’m done. Then we can go home.” Dally waited until I nodded, and then he looked at Daddy Elias.

“You can’t have sex with him tonight because he’ll probably let you but he’ll worry tomorrow and I find him worrying to be very stressful. I don’t need stress poops tomorrow because he thinks you’re sexy.”

Dally was right.

Daddy Elias was very sexy and Dally’s tummy went funny when I was upset.

His mother said we were sharing the same digestive tract, but she said that was better than us sharing the same brain.

“I think that is a very good rule but would it be alright if I made a date with Milo to take him out for a grown-up dinner tomorrow?” Daddy Elias was smart and asked Dally first so he wouldn’t worry.
