“Thanks?” I respond, not really sure what else I’m supposed to say.
“Sure, whatever.” She hangs up.
My mind goes straight to Sunday. That was the day Ben found me. I know he was with me all day. Unless she meant the morning.
“Everything okay?” Ben says. I jerk my head up to see him standing in front of me with a towel wrapped around his waist. A wall of abs is right there on display.
“Wow” is all that comes out of my mouth. He chuckles.
“Someone call?” He nods to his phone in my hand. I nod.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have answered, but she called over and over. I thought maybe something was wrong.”
“Ollie?” He reaches out to take his phone from my hand.
“Kelly.”
“You talk to her?” He smirks.
“I told her you were in the shower.” He laughs harder.
“Good, maybe she’ll get the message.”
“What message? She said she was with you the other day.” I glance down at fingers I’m tangling together in my lap.
“Bunny.”
“Yeah?” I look back up.
“Going to grab you,” he warns but doesn’t move.
“Like now or—” Then he’s on me. Pinning me to the bed.
Without a thought, I wrap my legs around him. Well, the best I can. Ben is a big man. I realize he was warning me before he moved, scared he would startle me. I don’t think Ben could startle me if he tried.
“Thought I made things clear last night, but if I need to prove it, I will. I have no problem doing that for you. Whatever it takes to make you feel settled. I’m not with anyone. I got you off this morning and then got myself off in the shower with your taste still in my mouth. You own me, Bunny. There is no one else for me. Period.” Whoa. Heat floods through my whole body at his admission.
“Okay, I’m sorry I questioned. She just said—”
“That I was with her a few days ago. I was.” I drop my gaze from his, not caring to hear about him with anyone that is into him even if he’s not into them. Ben brushes his mouth against mine, making me relax under him before he keeps going. “Met her at the diner for a job interview for a position I didn’t know my brother already filled at Hart Bonds. I wouldn’t have hired her, even if Kane hadn’t filled the position. She started flirting with me, and that doesn’t fly.”
“You got something against flirting?” I tease him.
“Not when you do it, Bunny. Flirt away. I’m all yours.”
“All mine?”
“Yep, and you’re all mine.”
I love the sound of that. Heck, I love everything that my Benny says.

I grab some of the bags Pink and Ollie brought yesterday and carry them into my bedroom. Last night, Bunny wore one of my shirts to bed and hasn't bothered to look through all the crap. I think it was all a bit overwhelming. She might have been laid up in a hospital bed, but the emotional turmoil I’m sure she’s having can be taxing. She didn’t last long once I put the movie on.
Last night, even with her wanting to watch a movie in my bed and saying she wanted to sleep with me, I wasn’t sure where she might want her stuff. I have a few spare rooms upstairs that she could have. She wouldn’t have to sleep in them if she didn’t want to, but she could have an area that’s hers.
As much as I don’t love the idea of having her things anywhere else but alongside mine, I know I have to let her have her own space. But all of that went out the window after her two little shows of jealousy and her letting me get her off. I take them straight into the master bedroom and set them all at the end of the bed.
I smile when I hear the shower running. As much as I hate her worrying over me being with some other woman, it helps settle some of that unease I have inside of me that at any moment someone is going to sweep in and take Bunny from me. Or try to stake some sort of claim on her.
After I drop all her stuff off, I make the bed and grab my phone, needing to make a few calls. I’d planned to last night once she fell asleep, but she’d been wrapped around me like a koala bear. There was no way I was going to risk waking her, so I stayed put. She never got a full night's sleep in the hospital between her nightmares and the nurses coming in and out to do checks.
I close the bedroom door, heading toward the kitchen as I call Knox. “Been wondering when you were going to call.”
“Haven’t had a chance, but you had extra time so you should have extra information for me.”
