“Wow…” Lili ran her fingertips lightly along the gleaming, black smart-metal sheath. “This is so intricate! What can it do?”
“Punch through just about any substance,” Light answered for him. “I’ve seen Dark punch through a solid plasti-steel wall with no problem.”
“But it has other functions too,” Dark pointed out. “Especially the fingers.”
The sheath had been modified by Yipper, the Tolleg Surgeon who was overseeing their transfer to the Mother Ship. He had claimed that the modifications would be “extremely pleasing to females.” Dark hadn’t known what he meant at first, but now he thought he had an idea.
As Lili slid her hand up to explore his fingers, he activated one of the new functions. At once, the metal began growing warm.
“Oh—it’s heating up!” Lili exclaimed, her eyes wide. “What else does it do?”
“This.” Dark activated another function and the tips of his first two fingers began to vibrate rapidly, making a soft, purring sound as they did.
“Oh!” Lili’s eyes got wide and she yanked her hand away in surprise.
Dark frowned.
“Do you not like it? The Tolleg Surgeon who added that function claimed that females would find it most pleasurable.”
“Oh, er…” Her cheeks went suddenly pink for some reason and through his scope, Dark could see that her face was getting hotter because of the infrared function.
“Brother, I think you’re embarrassing her,” Light murmured.
“How? By showing her my sheath’s pleasure function?” Dark growled, confused.
“Don’t you remember that Yipper told us human females don’t talk much about sexual pleasure or sex in general?” Light asked, frowning. “At least, not unless you have an intimate relationship with them—then they can tell you what they want from you, but not unless you’re close to them emotionally first.”
Dark made a face.
“I don’t understand humans. They have emotions and drives that make them want to fuck—emotions and drives you and I lacked for most of our lives—but they don’t want to use them!”
“Look, you know that’s not something we’re supposed to be talking about—especially not to human females!” Light exclaimed, frowning. “We’ll offend Lili and drive her away—is that what you want?”
“No, no—it’s not a problem,” Lili said quickly. “I don’t mind. I understand that the two of you are still getting used to having feelings. And honestly, finding a man who’s actually willing to talk about his feelings is really refreshing.”
Light and Dark both frowned at this.
“So…human males don’t want to talk about their emotions?” Light asked her.
Lili shook her head.
“Most of the time, no—not at all. And it causes all kinds of problems! Because when you talk about your feelings, you can better understand what’s causing them—why you’re having them. And that helps you deal with them because not all emotions are fun to feel, you know,” she added.
“Like the emotion I had when that male was staring at you and I could tell he wanted to hurt you,” Dark growled, remembering. “That wasn’t very fucking pleasant—I felt like I did back when we went into battle on our home planet. I wanted to fucking pound him!”
“But you didn’t—which was good,” Light said quickly.
Dark frowned—he knew his twin was worried that he would lose control if The Fury overtook him and get them in trouble. But so far he hadn’t felt any Berserker urges at all—except the one he’d had to pound Lili’s stalker. And he had controlled that without a problem. Well, without much of a problem, he amended to himself.
“It’s okay—I appreciate the two of you standing up for me and protecting me,” Lili said, smiling. “And I think it’s fascinating to talk about emotions with you—especially since you’re experiencing them for the first time. So don’t be afraid to tell me about them, whatever they are.”
