I'm waiting, somewhat anxiously. I need to talk to Adam and Chase about what we're gonna say to Nicole. I guess I'm a little on edge because she could ultimately refuse a request for submission.

Then where would we be?

I would lose her for good. And I simply can't have that.

At last, Adam and Chase saunter into my office.

"You guys finally made it," I say.

"What's so important that it couldn't wait?" Adam asks.

Ever the lighthearted one, Adam's acting as if we don't have a care in the world, when in fact I know we do.

"Before you act all cocky, I called you guys in here to discuss Nicole. You know we could very well lose her over the Sebastian King case."

Chase takes a seat behind my desk, "She's not gonna let us go over a case. If we don't give it to her, it's not like she's gonna run away."

I can't even believe he's being so flippant about the matter. Am I the only one taking this seriously?

"I'm not saying she'll run away if we don't give her the case. I'm saying we might have to push her away if she can't commit to us. If she can't commit to us, then she can't commit to anything."

Their eyes widen, and I guess they finally see where I'm coming from. Nicole has been wishy-washy about us. I know she's not fully in it, and that's just not okay.

How do I know she can commit to a big case when she can't even commit to a relationship? Especially one that she so obviously wants?

"So you think it's time to press her for an answer?" Chase asks. "You know I had a conversation with her about trust. She's had her heart broken before. I'm not sure she's ready to put it out on the line again."

At least someone's thinking along the same lines as I am. I've been taking Nicole seriously from day one. And I've also known that she's afraid to submit.

That's a hurdle we usually get past, but with Nicole, we just haven't. I sense her hesitation every time I'm around her.

"I don't know why she can't just give in to us?" Adam asks. "We're obviously the ones that she wants to be with. I mean, come on guys, it's not just me that understands that, right?"

"No, it's not just you Adam," I say. "I'll call her in here. We have to talk about this and get things finalized today. The Sebastian King case is coming up."

Everyone looks happy at the prospect of seeing Nicole.

"Tiffany," I say into the intercom. "Can you please tell Nicole it's time?"

Nicole comes into my office, and she seems a little nervous. She's likely wondering if we've considered her proposal, which we certainly have.

"Hi, guys," she says, also taking a seat. "I'm guessing you have an answer for me?"

"That depends, Nicole," I say. "If you have an answer for us."

Chase and Adam seem surprised that I cut right to the point with her, but what do I have to lose? We need to know where Nicole stands.

"What do you mean an answer for you?" she seems really nervous now.

Something about her vulnerability makes my cock harden with power against my pants. I want to dominate her, and that's entirely the problem. It's a problem, because she will not just give herself up to me like I know her body's dying to.

"Nicole," Adam says, trying to lighten the mood. "We're not here to pressure you, but you have to understand that we also need an answer from you about our relationship."

She crosses her legs uncomfortably. I can see tiny beads of sweat form on her neckline. I want to drag her on top of my desk, spread her open, and take her. I could show her what she wants and needs.

I restrain myself, ever the sober one, "How can you possibly expect us to give you the King case and to commit to that, when you haven't even been able to commit to us?"

"Commit to you? Is that what it's gonna take for me to get the job? I can't even believe you would throw our relationship in my face."

Uh oh, I seem to have jumpstarted a bomb. I never imagined she would take it this way. I'm not saying it's her job or her relationship. I'm not saying that if she doesn't choose us, she doesn't get the job.

I just want to know that she can commit to something.

Nicole

Am I really hearing what I think I'm hearing? Did Cameron just tell me I either have to commit to having a relationship with them or else I'll lose out on the Sebastian King case? What does one thing have to do with the other?

I honestly feel betrayed by the request. I'm not here to sell myself for a job. I don't think I've ever intended that, and I don't think I've ever presented myself across that way.
