Ellis swore under his breath as he watched me, his fingers smoothing over my hair just the way I liked. He normally had a light touch, but in that instant, his grip was unrelenting, and I loved how my scalp burned from his eagerness.

Taking a breath, I regrouped and took Ellis’s cock in my mouth as far back as it could go without choking me. I used my tongue and hand to find a rhythm that worked for me. For him, too, apparently, because in another minute, Ellis was moaning and rocking his hips as we worked in tandem to push him over the edge.

“Oh…oh God…I’m gonna come.”

I held his cock steady between my lips as it jerked against my tongue and his release spurted in my mouth. I inhaled sharply in surprise, attempting to swallow come for the first time, which had a salty, bitter taste. I was determined, so I worked my throat to make it happen, but there was too much and most of it ended up leaking down my chin and dripping onto the floor.

“Fuck, Nolan. You didn’t have to—”

“I wanted to.” Panting heavily, I marveled at his softening cock as I swiped at my mouth with my forearm. Ellis closed his eyes with a satisfied sigh and rested his head against the wall behind him.

A moment more, and then he urged me to stand and took my mouth in a blistering kiss, no doubt tasting himself on me. But he didn’t seem to mind as he unbuttoned my pants, releasing my stiff cock, and the relief I felt made my knees buckle. His fist curled around my shaft to stroke me while our tongues tangled together. It didn’t take long for my come to spill over his fingers and join his on the floor.

“Looks like we’ve got some tidying up to do.” When Ellis smiled against my mouth, I swore I could taste the joy on his lips, and fuck, what that did to me.

We got ourselves cleaned up, along with the floor, before Ellis changed so we could head out to my car.

Satisfied in a way I’d never felt before, I held his hand the entire way to my mom’s house.

I was so glad he was with me as we were introduced to Collin, Annabeth’s new guy.

“Nice to meet you.” I motioned to my best friend. “This is Ellis.”

Over dinner, Mom gave them the third degree, but neither Annabeth nor Collin seemed to mind, so I lobbed my own questions. “How long have you been dating?”

“A couple of months now,” Collin replied, then motioned to Ellis and me. “How long have you two been together?”

My face heated, and Ellis choked on his drink. “Oh, no, we’re not…”

“They’re best friends and in the same band,” Annabeth explained, though she threw Mom a quizzical look.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean anything by it. It’s just that I can tell you’re close, so I assumed…”

“No worries,” Ellis said. “We are…close.”

“They even live in the same building,” Mom said with a laugh as she passed around the breadbasket.

Christ, did we sound that pathetic?

Collin asked about our band and our jobs, possibly glad the attention wasn’t still on him. He and Annabeth seemed to fit well together, and I told her so when we ended up alone in the kitchen.

“You seem happy,” I said, nudging her shoulder. “You should’ve told me.”

“Told you what?”

“That it was getting serious.”

“Would you have told me?” she countered.

“No, guess not,” I replied, and we laughed.

“Glad you brought Ellis. He’s a good guy, and you do seem closer, maybe since…” She trailed off, likely not wanting to mention the robbery, but I’d bet money Mom had filled her in on our previous conversation.

“Yeah, guess so.”

“Hey, if you ever go gay, he’d be perfect for you.”

She winked as she left the room with the dessert, and I stood there stunned for a moment until I realized I was holding the plates and snapped out of it.

She was obviously kidding, but it affected me regardless. She’d been so flippant, as if it would be no big deal. So maybe it really wouldn’t be. If only I could wrap my brain around the idea.

One step at a time.

When we got back home, I was still feeling pensive.

“You okay?” Ellis asked.

“Yeah, just beat from the weekend.”

“Wanna sleep here tonight?” He paused at his door. “I’d like to throw in another load of laundry before bed.”

“Sounds good.”

We hung out, listening to music while he sorted his laundry. It felt so normal, so…natural.

Once he was finished, we headed to bed, where Ellis cradled me in his arms, as if sensing I needed it. Though I wasn’t even sure why.

“Collin seems nice,” Ellis said.

I yawned. “Yeah. I’m happy for her.”

He was warm, my ear was against his heart, and the steady beat lulled me to sleep.
