I slipped into nicer jeans and a newer tee—to at least try and impress Annabeth’s guy—climbed into my shoes, and went out the door to Ellis’s place.
He greeted me in only thin sweats. Damn. So not fair.
“Hey, Nolan, what’s up?”
“Mind if I come in?”
“Sure.” He swung the door wider, and I stepped inside.
“I’m heading to my mom’s soon. She wanted me to invite you to dinner.”
“That’s nice of her.” He looked down at himself. “You should’ve asked me earlier.”
“You have time to change. Apparently, Annabeth is bringing her new guy.”
“Annabeth has a new guy? What is this alternate reality?”
I snickered. “I know, right?”
“Do you, uh…want me to go with you?” He looked away shyly.
“Yes, but that’s not the only reason I came down here.”
“Uh-oh. Why do I feel like a serious conversation is coming?”
“Because we just returned from a fun weekend where we had to hide what was going on between us?”
“True.” Ellis’s shoulders slumped. “It was killing me.”
“Me too. I want you, Ellis. I want to kiss you, touch you, spend time with you. But I don’t know what that means as far as we’re concerned. You know you and I’ve never wanted the same things.”
Ellis cocked an eyebrow. “What do you think dating someone involves? It’s all those things you just mentioned.”
“This is obviously different because you’re my best friend.”
“Obviously.” He huffed out a breath. “I don’t know what to think about any of this. I only want… I want to take our time and enjoy each other. Is that too much to ask?”
“No, but what if it ends badly?”
“Then we talk about it like adults?”
I stepped toward him and pushed back a stray curl. “I would never want to hurt you.”
Ellis bit his lip. “How do you know you will?”
“Because you’re the one who wants all the bells and whistles.”
“I’m a big boy.” He shrugged. “Right now, all the bells and whistles I want are the ones I feel when you touch me.”
“Fuck, Ellis. I want to touch you so bad.”
“How about this? You touch me before I completely lose my mind, and then I’ll change and go with you to your mom’s for dinner.”
I grinned. “Sounds like a plan.”
I hemmed him against the wall and sealed our mouths together. We stood that way with our lips and tongues connected for I didn’t know how long because when I was kissing Ellis Bloom, I seemed to lose track of time. My entire body felt like a live wire as we rubbed our stiff erections against each other. But it wasn’t enough. I needed more.
“Wait a minute.” I drew away to catch my breath. “I just want…damn.”
“What’s wrong?” Ellis asked, his pupils blown wide.
“Nothing.” I sank to my knees in front of him. “I want to try something new. Something I can’t stop thinking about.” Not since we’d watched that show together.
“If it involves you and my dick, I fully approve.”
I smirked as he helped me tug his sweats and underwear to his knees. His cock flexed against his stomach, swollen and leaking precome, no doubt from all the friction of a moment before.
I stilled, taking it all in. I was on my knees for another guy. For my best friend.
“Why are you staring at me like that?”
“Because look at you. Hell, I never imagined spending so much time thinking about dicks—yours and mine.”
He huffed out a laugh. “Christ, Nolan, you’re killing me here.”
I was terrified because I didn’t know what I was doing, but I also couldn’t stop myself from wanting more. My hand wound tentatively around his shaft as he squirmed in anticipation. I told myself to just follow my instincts as I circled my thumb around his glans. When he groaned, I looked up at him. “You like that?”
“Hell yeah.”
“Maybe my tongue will feel better.”
“Ah, fuck.” He screwed his eyes shut as I hesitantly licked around the crown and then higher across the slit as he shuddered. He tasted like salt and body wash, the exact way he smelled in bed with me at night, and it had become an aphrodisiac all its own.
He reached out and wove his fingers through my hair, which felt so good and spurred me on. Maybe I wasn’t too bad at this after all.
When I slid half his length between my lips and swirled my tongue around the glans, he whimpered. Lifting my eyes to his face, his expression was one of wonder, his cheeks and throat flushed. I tried taking more of him in my mouth, gagged, so I pulled back.
“Nolan?” His fingers feathered against my cheek as our eyes met. “You okay? You don’t have to—”
“I’m more than okay.”
“Just…take your time. It’s only us, remember?”
I nodded, my body thrumming with a desperate energy to make him feel good. I rubbed my cheek over his hip bone, then submerged my nose in the nest of wiry hair at his groin. What the hell was I doing? But it had the desired effect. I wanted to smell the essence of him—of another man—and somehow, it made everything feel right.
