I don’t say a word, I simply hold up the bottle.

“I’ll be there in two minutes,” she grins before closing the door.

Satisfied, I make my way down to my apartment.

I unlock the door and throw my bag down on the floor. “Sup, Louie,” I say as I pass the little guy.

“Sup, Louie,” he repeats in his little bird voice before he starts whistling.

I place the wine down on the kitchen bench before heading down the hallway to get dressed into my comfy clothes and wash off my makeup. I pour two glasses of wine and put the bottle in the fridge as Jaz waltzes through my door with her ear glued to her phone, ordering us pizza.

She collects her glass off the table, grabs a blanket out of my cupboard and makes herself comfy on the lounge. “You have a shit day, too?” she questions as she searches through her playlist before putting on a little background music.

“Just the opposite,” I tell her.

“Oh?” she asks with interest as her fingers pause on her iPod. Her eyes flick up to me and watch me with a raised questioning eyebrow as I grab my own glass off the table and make myself comfortable under the blanket on the lounge.

“Yeah, I had my first day working for the Denver Thunder,” I reminder her.

“Oh, that’s right,” she says with her whole face lighting up. “Please, God, tell me you met the players?”

“Yeah,” I laugh. “I met a few of them.”

“And…?” she prompts. “Don’t hold out on me. I bet they were all sexy pieces of muscled man meat.”

“That, they were,” I grin before I go on to explain every last detail about my experience with Logan.

Jaz gives me a confused look. “I don’t see your problem,” she says. “Your hoochy is desperate for attention, it probably has cobwebs on it. Maybe a guy like Logan is just what it needs and it sounds like he isn’t giving up anytime soon.”

“My hoochy does not have cobwebs on it,” I defend.

“Bullshit. I hear it crying at night, screaming for a good pounding.”

“Oh, my God, shut up,” I shriek as I throw a cushion at her.

She awkwardly tries to dodge the cushion while simultaneously trying not to spill her wine all over my lounge. “It’s true,” she laughs.

“Is not,” I grin. But really, it is. To tell the truth, I really could use a good pounding.

Little does Jaz know, I’m a 25-year-old who still has her V-Card. I mean, I’m no prude. I’ve fooled around with guys before but no one has ever given me that instant desire, not the way Logan did the second he walked into the room. I swear, I almost came just from touching him. He’s the kind of guy I would give it up for, well if he wasn’t such a playboy.

I guess I’ve just never been interested in sex. Well… that’s a lie. I’m definitely interested, I’m just not interested in searching for the guy to do it with. Don’t get me wrong, I have a certain little guy that glows in the dark, stashed under my bed who does the job perfectly, so why mess with perfection?

Men have come and gone and the second they realise that my life is far from easy, they are straight out the door, and I guess I realised a long time ago that I’m just going to be one of those girls who has to be ok with it just being me and my battery-operated boyfriend.

Well, that’s not true, I have Jaz and Brendan, and of course, Louie, though, if I keep forgetting to feed him, I may not have him for much longer. Maybe I should get a dog as well but I’m pretty sure that goes against my rental agreement and then I’d probably forget to feed him too.

"If you think he's such a player, then give me one good reason why you couldn't just play with him back. Clearly, that's what he wants, so what's the harm? You use each other for a good time and move on. No one would have to know and then your job is safe." she suggests.

“You know that’s not how I do things,” I tell her. “and besides, Logan Water’s is not the kind of guy you could just walk away from. He’s a heart breaker. He has one of those cocky, sexy smiles that just draws you in and if I let myself go there, I’m going to end up hurt, so, no thanks. I’m good.”

She rolls her eyes. “What’s he look like?” she asks.

Finding it physically impossible to describe him well enough to do him justice, I grab my phone and google him. A grin rips across my face as I recall our conversation from earlier today. He hadn’t wanted me to google him yet here I am and I must say, I was right, there must be hundreds of pictures of Logan with a different woman in each.
