He chuckles, and it makes his eyes sparkle.

“Oh, I have no doubt about that, sweetheart,” he says with a cheeky wink before he turns and makes his way out into the hallway, and I finally shut my bedroom door before leaning against it.

I don’t regret anything that just happened, all I can think about is doing it again. Kai and Valen have burrowed themselves inside me, not just psychically, but mentally and emotionally as well. And that surprises me because I’m still fighting my feelings for Judah. I don’t want to admit I want him. Even though we just had mind-blowing sex, I can’t find it in my heart to fall in love with him just yet.

UP IN FLAMES

JUDAH

When I told Brielle last night that she had to decide what to do, I expected her to run. I didn’t think we’d end up fucking in the shower. The memory of her pussy taking my dick is still fresh in my mind as I wait for the other guys to get here for the meeting.

There could be repercussions when it comes to what Brielle did to DiMario, so we need to be ready. I know there’ll be talk around the campus, but none of the students will come after us because the evidence is enough to convince them that Marco needed to die. Things could so easily go up in flames with the other families, though, so we need to make sure we’re prepared.

The door opens and Kai saunters in. The look on his face is obvious. We’ve all connected with her on a deeper level, but it doesn’t mean I can trust her completely. She’s been welcomed into our world now, into our family, but she’s still a Saviatti. One thing I do find strange is that her father hasn’t tried to make contact.

“How are you after last night?” Kai settles into the chair on my right-hand side and watches for my reaction.

We’re all trained to read people, looking for those small, telling nuances, but we’re also trained to hide anything that could give away an inkling of information to our enemy, or indeed, to my best friend who is fishing for details.

“I’m fine.”

“Come on, Jude,” he says, leaning back as Valen enters the room with a smile on his face. “You can tell us.”

I look at Kai, but I’m not sure what to say. As much as I want to talk about Brielle, I know it’s not going to be a quick conversation, because we need to delve deeper. We took it slow with her last night, but it’s not always going to be like that with three men who enjoy taking control. Her fire ignites our desire, and I know we all want nothing more than to experience it again.

“This isn’t the time for that.”

Just then, Jordan and Emilio walk into the room, and the subject is shut down for the time being. I know however, when we’re alone it will come up again, and I’m going to have to decide how to deal with my emotions. If I’m not in control, how am I meant to keep my poise with Brielle.

“What’s happening?” Jordan slumps into the chair and offers me a smirk, as if he knows something has changed. It certainly has shifted, and I’m still getting used to it.

“We need to talk about Saviatti,” I finally say after giving each of them a glance. “The Agency has been following him, making sure he’s staying on the right path, so to speak.”

“And he’s not?” Emilio asks, leaning his forearms on the table.

“He’s meeting with the families who are opposed to us, and who have encroached on our territories over the years.”

I open the folder with the proof and slide a printed, stapled document to each of them before sitting back and allowing them to peruse the information.

It’s Emilio who looks up first and says, “Perhaps we need reinforcements.”

For him to suggest this surprises me. Because it’s his father we’re talking about.

“You do realise if we bring in the others, there may be deadly consequences, and Brielle may end up hating all of us,” I respond.

The Agency are good when it comes to surveillance, but there is a part of their organisation that handles the more brutal side of things. If we don’t want to get our names involved in something, we call on them. Most times, I want to handle things myself, but this is far too sensitive for us to deal with.

“If we tell them they need to bring him in alive, perhaps we can find a way of getting through to him,” Emilio suggests, the hopeful expression on his face makes me wish there was another way, but I know Saviatti won’t come here of his own accord, even with his children living on the island.
