“What a good idea,” his father said as he stood. “I’ll see if I can find Bast, who will avoid the photo at all costs.”
Alaric waited until both parents were inside then tugged Ezra into his arms. He would never tire of holding this man and looked forward to all their years together. “Told you my family would love you.”
“They’re amazing. And I love that all you kids have your father’s nose.”
“So you don’t mind the nose, eh?”
“I fucking love your nose.” Ezra hugged him tight, then pulled back, his expression going serious. “Alaric, you’ve given me a reason for just being. You’ve given me a family I could only have dreamed existed. I never expected anyone could love me, and some days, I have to remind myself that it’s all not some dream I slipped into and stayed in. I fucking love everything about you.” He gave Alaric this dreamy sort of smile, one Alaric had been seeing more and more on his face. It warmed his heart much like the earth did when she shared her magic.
Because this? This was magic, too.
“Will I ever get used to it?” Ezra whispered. “Having a huge, loving family, having a life with a sexy, gorgeous elf?”
Alaric hugged him close, kissing his forehead. “Give it time.”
