The Demons might think they were irreplaceable, but they were dead wrong. Plenty of other organizations were okay with hauling their asses down to the border to make a shitload of money simply by being a powerful Mafia’s bitch.
And those dumbasses might soon find that out the hard way.
If the carnage would only be contained to their MC, Crew, and most likely his superiors, wouldn’t give a shit.
It would be a case of “too bad, so sad.”
But anyone who’d dealt with this kind of criminal organization in the past knew better.
Stray shrapnel could be just as damaging and deadly as the explosion itself.
Either way, whether the Russos took out the Demons or the feds did, the investigation would soon be coming to an end.
He looked forward to it on one hand and didn’t on the other.
Once the investigation concluded, he had no idea what, or even where, he’d be assigned next.
He liked his team. He liked the fact a bunch of his BAMC brothers worked with him on that team.
He also really liked the team member he just finished fucking. The woman not afraid to go toe to toe with outlaw bikers and, despite his original doubts, ended up being an asset to the investigation.
In reality, Cami, as a newer agent, could end up being assigned somewhere else, too. Like far away from him.
Could he do something about that?
He wasn’t sure. But what he did know was he wasn’t ready to let her go anywhere.
And if she was assigned anywhere other than the Pittsburgh office, he couldn’t follow. He needed to stay close to his kids. He also had his BAMC brotherhood.
His life was here.
If the agency ever insisted he move, he would retire and get a damn job at a fast food restaurant first. Luckily, Williams knew that Crew’s family came first.
“Hello.”
He blinked and stared down at her very relaxed face. “Hey.”
“You know you’re still inside me, right?”
He wouldn’t be for long.
With a groan, he held the condom securely around the root of his cock and pulled out. Before he could roll it off and dispose of it, she stopped him by cupping his cheek. “You are too damn handsome for your own good.”
Where the hell did that come from? “I can’t help it, it comes naturally. On that note, how did you get to be so damn gorgeous?”
“It comes naturally.” She added, “Just ignore the big makeup bag in the bathroom.”
He searched her face. “You’re not wearing any makeup now and you’re still beautiful as fuck.”
“Wait… Are you being a smart ass?” With her bottom lip tucked between her teeth, she stared up at him.
“No, I’m being serious.”
His heart thumped heavily in his chest. Since leaving Sasha, he’d done everything to prevent getting involved with another woman long-term.
He had failed spectacularly.
He hadn’t lied when he said she was gorgeous, but she was so much more than her looks. She was the complete fucking package.
She grinned up at him. “Then I’ll take the compliment. Do we need to come up with some sort of signal between us for when we’re being serious?”
“What would be the fun in that? I think we need to keep each other guessing.” He rolled off both her and the bed, removing the condom before it slipped off from his quickly deflating cock and landed on Fletch’s carpet, leaking his DNA everywhere.
A few minutes later, after heading to the bathroom to dispose of the full condom and clean himself up, he climbed back in bed with her.
When he sat against the headboard, she shifted until her head was in his lap and her silky dark hair spread over his bare thighs. He combed his fingers through it while contemplating how to start the conversation they needed to have.
And he could no longer avoid.
“The investigation is winding down. You gave us plenty of good shit from Hawg Wild. Names, evidence and even the location of where they keep their stash. I couldn’t ask for anything more. Because of that, the team will be storming that location and arresting any Demon on site when the sweep happens.”
Her fingers trailed lazily up and down his arm. “Good. I’m glad I could make a difference.”
“You no longer have to go in there. Your undercover assignment is finished.”
“I figured you were leading up to that. It’ll be nice to go back to a normal sleep pattern.”
“You did good, Cami. Despite my worry.”
“You didn’t need to worry about me,” she reminded him.
“Easier said than done.”
“Are you bringing this up now because you’re preparing me for the fact I’ll soon be evicted from this beautiful house with the very awesome pool?” she asked.
“That’ll be one of the changes.”
“That’s a major one. What’s the rest? Besides learning that I never want to be some outlaw biker’s ol’ lady. Or a sweet butt. Or work in a bar full of smoke again. It’s going to take my lungs a while to recover.”
