“Okay then. We’ll go first thing in the morning—unless you want to go tonight? I’m sure Xavier could have his contact meet us there.”
“Morning’s good,” Clive murmured as he all but devoured Bain with his eyes.
Bain couldn’t resist. He walked to Clive and tilted up his chin, meeting his gaze. “Is there something else you’d rather do tonight, Clive?”
“Big time.”
He couldn’t resist those lips, either, so he leaned down to kiss them. “Wait for me in the bedroom. I’m going to shower first.”
Clive’s fast nod made him want to laugh, but he didn’t because the man turned away and nearly ran from the bathroom.
Knowing his world was about to be rocked, Bain hurried through his shower, cursing at the leaves and dirt he had to wash out of his hair. He dried off fast, ran a comb through his wet hair, then wrapped a towel around his waist. Anticipation built inside him, but he made himself walk slowly into the bedroom, where he found Clive standing beside the bed.
“You need to lose the clothes,” he said, his voice already husky with desire.
Clive started unbuttoning his shirt, revealing creamy, delicious skin. “I guess those company rules don’t really apply to us anymore after last night.”
“I couldn’t care less about the rules.” Not that they mattered after what Xavier had revealed. That he’d started the company in Seattle so Bain would meet Clive.
“I won’t tell if you won’t.” He dropped his shirt onto the floor.
“Clive, if I touch you more, everyone is going to know.” He took a step closer and made sure Clive could see the truth of what was happening in his expression. “Because I won’t be giving you up. Ever.”
“Ever?” Clive paused at the top button of his jeans, pure hope shining in those beautiful blue eyes. “Do you mean that?”
Bain slowly moved toward him. “Never meant anything more in my life. If I touch you, I’m keeping you.”
“You said you like variety.”
“I do. But I will only give my heart once. I’m pretty sure my parents had it wrong—that basilisks can mate for life.”
“You want to mate me? Like in the books? That’s real?” His eyes went wide. “Me?”
“I wanted you the moment I saw you, and getting to know you just confirmed to me how very special you are. So yes, if I put my hands on you again, it will only be me touching you for the rest of your very long life. It will be a mating, not just sex. Not just a relationship.”
Clive’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“If we mate, your life force will tie with mine and you’ll live as long as I do—which is hundreds of years. Possibly more.”
“Hundreds,” Clive murmured.
“Oh, yes,” he drawled as he placed his hands on Clive’s shoulders. Touching his bare flesh sent heat sizzling up his arms, and Bain shuddered. “We’re going to have so much time to learn each other’s bodies, to explore, to taste.”
But Clive shook his head. “You’ll get bored with me. Everyone does. I’m a shut-in, remember?”
“Now that you understand about the supernatural world, you know not to be afraid anymore. Besides, you’ll have me to keep you safe.” Bain wrapped his arms around Clive, pulling him close. “I will never get bored with you. How could I when you hold my heart in your hands?”
“What if the sex isn’t good?”
But couldn’t help but laugh. “It was good last night. You ever felt chemistry like this?”
“No.”
“Trust me. We’re gonna continue to rock together. Let me show you.”
“Yes,” Clive hissed, pushing back so he could undo his jeans with frantic fingers.
“Let me,” Bain whispered. He slid his fingers under the waistband slowly, watching as Clive’s lips parted. He undid the buttons then knelt to pull down the jeans. Clive lifted each foot to help him remove them entirely. His future mate even had pretty feet.
Bain kissed up Clive’s legs then nuzzled into the blue boxers covering his obviously hard dick. “You smell so good it’s going to my head.” He looked up. “How do you like to have sex, Clive?”
“H…how?” He stuttered.
“Yes, how. Are you a top or a bottom? Or do you prefer hands or oral only? What do you like?”
“I like all of it, though I’m not much of a top. It’s okay but I prefer—” He broke off on a gasp because Bain had grasped his cock.
“You prefer being fucked, Clive?”
“Oh, god, yes! Please!”
“First, I’m going to taste you. Every stunning inch of you.” He stood. “Lose the underwear and stretch out on that bed.”
Clive walked past him, then bent to take off his boxers. Bain’s heart nearly beat out of his chest at the sight of that incredibly round ass naked again. It was a thing of pure beauty. So meaty he wanted to take a bite. He groaned.
Clive stretched out on the bed and Bain could only stare for several long moments as he dropped his towel onto the floor.
