They were alone, once again. Not that they hadn’t been the past few days, but this was the first time in an actual bedroom. In a rather sensual cabin. One that seemed designed for couples who wanted to create a little more romance and mystery.
Leah glanced around but everywhere seemed to scream sex to her.
Being around Killian was proving to be quite difficult. She wanted to be close to him at all times. Her feelings weren’t fading, even when she thought about the rejection he’d put her through. If anything, she wanted him more. That was one part of her life that didn’t seem to want to fade—her need for him.
Her body felt on fire. She was desperate to feel his hands on her body. His lips on hers. To be completely surrounded by him.
Getting to her feet, she paced the bedroom. This was a giant mistake. Killian had told her there was no way they could be together. They didn’t have a future. They never would.
She didn’t want to be that poor doormat who followed the guy around like a lost little puppy. Hell, no. After they had completed this mission, she didn’t have to ever see him again. Not ever.
That didn’t mean they couldn’t enjoy each other. Lucinda was right, she should be able to take this time to enjoy being alone with her mate. Of feeling him all over her, surrounding her, inside her. There was never going to be anyone else. Just the two of them.
The bathroom door opened.
“Is something wrong?” Killian asked. He stepped out, complete with a towel around his waist, and looked so irresistible. Words failed her and this was indeed a shock, as she always found something to talk about, but he looked so … yummy. This wasn’t fair. Not fair at all.
But once again, words were hard. So very, very hard. She looked at him, and then, word vomit.
“I think you and I should have sex. Not nice sex either. I think we should have cold, hard sex, so we can at least know what it’s like to do it with mates.”

At first, Killian wasn’t sure he’d heard right.
Leah looked so tempting. The towel didn’t exactly hide her body. If anything, it seemed to mold to it like a second skin. This full tits, juicy thighs, even her hips seemed to scream at him to touch, to hold. He had a constant erection and he struggled to keep it hidden, even now.
“What?” he asked.
“You heard me,” Leah said. “I know it’s not going to change anything and it’s going to take this to the next level, but who cares? We have no one else to answer to. We’re meant to be mates and I accept your rejection, but we could do the whole, ‘while we’re on a super-secret mission, everything we do kind of stays on the whole super-secret mission’.”
“Leah, I don’t think … you’re … this…”
She glared at him. “You don’t think what? That after you and I have sex, I will see it as us being mates? Trust me, I know we’re not mates. Well, we are, but you don’t want to be. I’m too much of a witch for you and all that nonsense. I know the drill, okay. I get it.”
“Leah.”
“If you don’t want to, then just say that. Say you’re not attracted to me, and the very idea of touching me or even having sex with me repulses you.”
Killian closed the distance between them, grabbed her hand, and then pressed it around his naked cock.
“This is how desperate I am for you. I want you, Leah. I have wanted you since the moment I realized you were my mate. I’m being kind to you.”
“Then don’t be,” Leah said, not even waiting a second.
“Leah—”
“Don’t Leah me. I want this.”
Within seconds she had the towel off and her body pressed against his. “And I want you. I will always want you.” She pressed a hand on his chest, and even that felt good.
His wolf wanted her.
Killian knew having a taste of Leah would be torture. He also knew he had to do this. In order to remove their mating link, he had to have mated with her. A great sacrifice. He’d purposefully put this off, as he knew there was a risk he wouldn’t be able to tell her no. That he’d want her and be unable to do what he planned.
Slamming his lips down on hers, he knew after this, he was going to hell. Her coven would want his blood. They would search for his soul in the hope of destroying him.
He ignored his survival instincts, and instead allowed his own personal need to take control. All he ever wanted was his mate, and now, after waiting eons, he was going to finally have her. Leah was his. The fates had made their decision. She was going to belong to him. Be all his.
