And that got me more laughter.
He was so ridiculous.
But I gave him more pets and even kissed his head to make sure he got enough dragon snuggles. “You’re a very pretty dragon, though, and I’m not scared of you.”
Something tingly seemed to fill the room and suddenly a very naked Fraser was stretched out down the bed with only his head and shoulders resting in my lap. His chest was wrapped up with the sheet but the rest of him was on display and happy to see me. “Hello. Thank you for showing me your other form.”
There were still echoes of laughter in my head before he grinned, but somehow it wasn’t as strong as it had been before. “Hello. You’re welcome, and when you’re ready, we’ll go outside so you can see my full form.”
That would be…fascinating.
“How…how big is that form?” The question escaped before I thought it through. “No, that’s not what we’re discussing. I have to stay on track and walk through this logically.”
“You’re really cute. Have I told you that?” His ridiculous response made me roll my eyes. “You’re even cute when you do that.”
“I am not.” Glaring at him just got more giggles…out loud that time.
“You are.” Fraser lifted his head and gave me a kiss before lying back down again. “I’m glad you weren’t scared.”
Me too.
“I have to admit that showing me the smaller size first was a good way to approach the situation.” He’d still looked deadly, but it was in a lot less stressful kind of way. “I won’t be frightened of your bigger form.”
I’d seen that he could think and reason even when he didn’t look like a human and he’d shown me he could be patient and playful. Since those were all characteristics he had in his human form, logic dictated that he’d have them in his larger one.
Shenanigans seemed to be the biggest thing to worry about.
Or worse…cuddles.
“I’m glad.” He seemed to think he got to steal another kiss, so I got a quick peck before he snuggled against me again. “I’m also glad I got a lot of cuddles when I showed you my dragon side.”
Being able to take a hint, I started stroking his head and went back to giving him the cuddles he wanted as I thought about what I’d learned. “It’s telepathic, right? There’s no other way.”
“Yes.” Fraser nearly purred as his eyes closed and he relaxed into me. “It’s between mates, but I don’t know if it was ever more widespread than that. We lost a lot of the knowledge about where we came from. We were trapped here.”
Hmm.
“We’re going to come back to that later.” Because it sounded like he’d just told me he was an alien dragon, but that could wait. “Mates? That’s what the man in the bakery said.”
Fraser peeked his eyes open and looked slightly guilty.
“We’re married, aren’t we? Damn it.” This town was completely out of hand. “My parents are going to have a cow. They aren’t that great at being parents but they’d want to know that I’m getting married before I do it.”
How had that even happened?
Fraser snickered and shook his head. “No, we’re not married by human standards, but we’ve started to bond and that’s why you could feel my emotions.”
Hmm.
“If there’s a difference and it’s not just a labeling issue, I should be looking for physical or cultural variances. With everything so far, it’s been physical. Without other information, I’m going to hypothesize that it’s some kind of mental bonding and why you were following me around at first.” That would really explain a lot.
Fraser grinned and stretched up to kiss me again. “You’re really sexy when you do that.”
He was ridiculous.
“Thinking through problems logically is not sexy.” We needed to get him out more. The squirrely town had messed with his brain. “I’m just taking in facts and processing them.”
He shrugged but rolled over and somehow ended up braced over me as I was stretched out on the bed. “No, it’s sexy. Just like you petting me in my dragon form when you were naked was sexy.”
Rolling my eyes had him trying not to laugh and he gave me a quick peck but didn’t move off of me. “But I promise to keep my tongue to myself going forward. I’m sorry I startled you.”
Good grief.
We had to talk about that?
Ugh.
“Apology accepted. I’m just sure mates don’t do that. You weren’t…you weren’t in a human body.” There had to be cultural taboos about that.
Fraser snickered. “If you promise not to tell anyone, Kenzie will tell you how much he likes it when his Daddy pulls his tail.”
What?
Giggling, he nodded and gave me another kiss while I gaped at him. “Kenzie really likes it when his Daddy tugs on his tail. He says it gives the best orgasms, but he’s not supposed to talk about it because it makes Talon blush.”
