My ears perk up on that last tidbit. Hell fucking yes. I don’t care about the complications our potential relationship will cause. I’ll do whatever it takes to make my little spitfire’s dream come true after I make her mine. I tune out Giant’s rambling as a plan starts to form in my mind.

Living without Radley for the last two-and-a-half weeks has nearly driven me insane. I’ve been working from sun-up until way past midnight, trying to exhaust myself so I’ll have any hope of getting a few hours of sleep.

Giant’s news gives me some hope of a solution to my problem. Now, I just have to figure out how to get the girl, tie her to me for life, and not alienate my younger brother.

CHAPTER SEVEN

radley

“I got the loan,” I blurt out the minute Maeve answers the phone. “The Rad Reed School of Music is one step closer to being a real thing.” As I walk down Main Street in Silver Spoon Falls, several people pass by me, but no one pays any attention to anyone else.

“Yay!” my best friend squeals. “I’m so freaking proud of you. What do you have to do next?”

“Thank you.” I come to a dead stop as a neon sign further down the block catches my attention. “I…” I swallow past the lump in my throat. “I… uh… have to find a location for the school,” I mumble as my heart kicks into overdrive.

The unmistakable neon sign has a W overlaying a peach intertwined with two roses and the words The Wild Peach in neon cursive underneath. I bite my bottom lip, knowing I’m standing a few feet away from Owen Wild’s brewery.

“Do you have any locations in mind?” Maeve’s question draws me out of my reverie.

“I have… uh… two locations to look at tomorrow.” I give my head a shake, trying to ignore the feelings racing through my soul at the thought of being this close to Owen. “I’m meeting with my realtor at nine am to go check them both out.”

My feet start walking toward the heavy, wooden double-doors that lead to the brewery, and I’m powerless to stop myself. “I’m going get a drink. I’ll call you back in a few,” I tell Maeve before hanging up and sliding my phone in my purse. My mind whirls with memories from my night with Owen Wild. Ever since the moment I snuck out of his hotel room, I’ve regretted my hasty decision.

When I ran out of the hotel room, I thought running into Owen would be a bad thing, but I’ve learned that not seeing him is the worst thing.

In the two and a half weeks since our night together, I’ve spent ninety-nine percent of the time missing a man I only knew for a few hours.

I’ll be moving to Silver Spoon Falls in the near future, and I have no doubt I’ll run into Owen sooner or later, so I decide to make our reintroduction on my terms. Who knows? Maybe he’ll forgive me for disappearing and we can have more wild nights together.

I pull open one of the doors and smile at the massive bouncer sitting on a barstool just inside the building before I’m able to chicken out. “Hi.” I give him my biggest smile.

“Hello, doll.” The smoking hot, muscular bouncer would’ve caused my heart to race and my palms to sweat a few weeks ago, but that’s before I met and fell head over heels for Owen Wild.

“Hi.” I give him a bright smile. I have no idea what I’m doing, but I can’t seem to stop myself.

The hostess steps over and smiles. “How many in your party? And would you like a table or a booth?”

“Just me.” I glance around the crowded brewery and swallow, wondering if I’ve lost my freaking mind. I just walked into the lion’s den with a big ole ‘come and get me’ sign hanging around my neck. “Vould I sit at the bar?”

“Of course.” She smiles and points at the only two empty barstools. “Choose whichever seat you want. The bartender will be right with you.”

“Thanks,” I tell her before walking over to slide into one of the empty barstools.

“What can I get you?” A twenty-something bartender walks up and smiles at me.

“I’ll try your hard apple cider.” It didn’t take much snooping for me to find out that Owen’s brewery makes world-class apple cider.

“Coming right up. Would you like a menu, too?”

“I’d love to look at the menu.” I give the middle-aged cowboy sitting on my right a brief smile before taking the menu from the bartender.

“Here’s your hard cider. Just catch my attention when you’re ready to order.”

“Thanks.” I open the menu and lose myself in all the delicious-sounding items.

The hair on the back of my neck stands up straight as my pulse kicks into overdrive. Before I even spin around, I know what I’m going to find.
