“Get up and throw on some pants. I have something I want you to see.”

I narrow my eyes at Gio. Curiosity piqued, I get up, tugging the top sheet around my waist. I find a pair of sweats in my closet and tug them on.

“Where’s Liz?” I ask as I come out of the closet. My patience is wearing thin as the shooting from earlier comes to mind.

“Come with me,” Gio says and starts out of the room.

We go downstairs and enter Lizzy’s game room. Jace moves to turn on the screens. Gio waves for me to sit in the gaming chair. I move to take a seat and feel my blood pressure rising.

“Gio, you need to start talking. Where is my woman? What are you two doing here?”

“Do you love her?”

“What?”

“You heard me. Do you love her?”

I run a hand through my hair. A million thoughts run through my mind. I lift my gaze to Gio’s. I know he would never bring someone into my life who I couldn’t trust.

“Yes, I love her. Now where the fuck is she?” I snarl, losing my patience.

“She’s there,” Jace murmurs.

I look at the scenes and Lizzy’s car comes into view. She steps from the car dressed in all black. I watch the screen as she moves to the back seat and sits with her legs hanging out of the car.

“What is this?”

“Keep watching,” Gio croons.

She opens a case and pulls out a pair of gold rollerblades. I watch as she changes her heavy black boots for the skates, then lifts from her seat and pulls two gold Glocks from the same case. My mouth falls open when she screws pearl-looking silencers on each gun. They seem to be etched with gold designs in the pearl. She places the guns in the thigh holsters on each of her legs.

Smoothly, she rolls to the back of the car and pops the trunk. Reaching in, she pulls out a rifle and fastens it to her back before pulling out a matte-black bat. I lift a brow when she closes the trunk and looks up with a grin on her lips, as if looking right into the camera, knowing it’s there.

I look at Gio. He smiles and tilts his head toward the monitors. I have a million questions for him.

“You wanted to know what you were missing about her. I’m going to show you. The drones will catch it all.”

Lizzy

I park about a half mile away from the address Jace handed to me and get out to change into my skates and suit up. Once I’m ready, I allow the weight of the guns and the bat in my palms to wash over me. I become that other person. The one I keep hidden away.

I turn my head up and grin. I’m ready. Pushing forward, I take off on my blades. In my palms, my bat is held out in front of me as I pump my legs, then glide forward. I eat up the half a mile in no time.

“Okay, Auntie Denise. I’m coming up on the targets. You there?”

“Always, hon. You have two out front. They’re not armed, just muscle.”

“Got it.”

I roll up to the front gate where the two are and drop my bat to my side.

The biggest of the two looks me over. “You need to keep moving,” he warns.

I smirk and twirl my bat at my side. The other one pulls a knife.

“He said keep it moving.”

I stop rotating my wrist and swing at the first guy’s nuts. The howl that comes from him is like music to my ears. The other guy lunges at me with his knife.

I block him with the bat. I turn my feet to second position and bend my knees to spin around him. Then I swing at his head with the bat so hard he spins as he falls to the ground fast asleep. The snap his neck makes, causes me nod at myself in approval.

I turn to the other guys still holding his balls groaning and spin on my skates before hitting him just as hard upside his head.

“Nice, baby girl,” Aunt Denise croons in my ear. “Lose the bat. Time for the lead. You’re going to head toward the back. You have about four waiting for you. Be careful, they’re moving back and forth, you could have more company at any time.”

“Got it,” I say and prop my bat against the gate. I’ll get that later.

I pull my pistols and push forward. I round the corner and see the guys standing at the back door. One has just lit a cigarette and blows out a ring of smoke. I aim and put a bullet in his head first.

That gets the attention of the other three. They pull their guns and start to fire. I drop low and glide on one leg as if my other leg is to help me aim straight, I fire at their knees.
