"What?" I realize how harsh it sounded, but Luna only giggles in response.
She gives me a quick kiss before stepping back. "I'm pregnant, Enzo." For a long moment, I stand and stare at her stupefied. A father? Me? "Uhm, you kind of have to say something now." Her sass has held me hostage to this beauty since the moment she first spoke to me. And I know nothing will change as we grow old together.
I drop to my knees, and for the first time in my life, I shed tears. "Thank you," I croak as emotion chokes me. I pull her into my hold and press my ear against her stomach which isn't showing yet, but I pray to a God I never believed in, that our lives continue to be blessed. Just the way Luna came into my life to illuminate it with her light.
