Enzo’s eyebrows scrunched in. “What do you mean?”

“Because I’m pretty sure he could bat those big blue eyes of his and we’d give him anything he wants.”

“Damn right we will,” he replied with a determined nod. “But I don’t see that as a problem.”

I chuckled at him, but I also agreed; we had the means, the desire, and the deep-seated need to provide for our man. There would no doubt be plenty of spoiling, and I couldn’t wait for it.

I flinched when Enzo slapped the dash before pointing out the windshield. “There he is! Shit, those two goons are with him.”

The same security guards who escorted Enzo and I outside were also flanking our mate, guiding him to his car. If we were an actual threat, I would appreciate that they were keeping him safe. But all they were actually doing was keeping us from our man. If we tried to approach him now, we’d just end up in trouble again, and scaring him more.

“What do we do?” Enzo asked in a panic as our mate climbed into his car. “He’s going to leave!”

“And we’re going to follow him.”

“Good idea. We’ll follow him home and then talk to him when he’s all alone.”

“Yeah, because that’s not terrifying at all,” I replied with an eye roll. “We’re not going to just stalk him back to his house and jump on him when he’s already scared. We’ll see where he lives and then give him time to rest and relax. We’ll approach him in the morning after he’s calmed down, and we’ll go bearing gifts.”

“I like the gift part,” Enzo agreed, “But I don’t want to wait.” I understood; now that I’d seen my mate, every part of my body and soul craved him so deeply that it caused physical pain to be apart from him.

“It’s going to hurt like hell, but I think it’s for the best.”

It was a moment before Enzo gave a reluctant nod. When our mate pulled his car out onto the main road, I snuck out behind him, keeping distance between us. As I drove, I searched my mind for what we could give my mate to soothe his fears, and what we could possibly say to win his heart.

Chapter Three

Anthony

I climbed out of bed onto shaky legs. All night, I dreamed things that had me feeling off-kilter. They weren’t nightmares; quite the opposite, actually. They were wonderful dreams, but they left me with a jittery feeling in the pit of my stomach.

I dreamed of the two large men I’d seen the night before at the department store. Though they terrified me in real life, they soothed me in my imagination. They took turns holding me in their laps, patting my bottom and calling me their ‘sweet baby’.

My dream allowed me the time to truly appreciate how gorgeous they were; from their tall, broad, muscular bodies, to their scruffy black beards and dark brown eyes. Just as they were in real life, one was a little shorter, with a more serious expression, while the taller one had an ornery gleam in his eyes.

I would (thankfully) never see the men in person again, but I would hold on to the mental images of something I so desperately craved; being cared for in my ‘little’ personality. Of course, it was a longing which I kept hidden from everyone around me.

I couldn’t tell anyone about my desires, or else I’d open myself up to teasing, harassment…or worse. Last night, my fears were proven to be true when I caved in and was admiring a pacifier when those two men approached me. They must have been able to tell that I wanted it for myself, because they began teasing me, and then chased me. Who knows what they would’ve done to me if they caught me? I didn’t want to find out. I needed to be more careful.

I walked into the kitchen to find some breakfast, but I scrunched up my nose at the mess I found instead; beer cans, pizza boxes, and dirty dishes littered nearly every surface. I couldn’t eat when the place looked so gross. And even though I didn’t make any of the mess, I would have to clean it up or it wouldn’t get done, as usual.

I rolled up my sleeves to get to work, but a knock on the front door captured my attention. So, I made my way into the living room, finding more garbage strung across the floor, and my two roommates passed out on the couch.

I sighed and drudged through the mess until I reached the front door. When I pulled it open, my eyes bulged and my heart sank into my stomach. There stood the two men who were in the store the night before.

I yelped, slammed the door shut, and locked the deadbolt. They must have followed me! They're pissed that I got them in trouble. They came to finish what they started!
