“I think someone’s ready for a nap,” he commented.
Madeline laughed. “Yes, he certainly is. Poor boy is tuckered out. A lot of excitement for him today.”
I gently handed him back to her. “I’ll call you later so we can set up a time to get together this weekend,” I told her.
She hugged me. “You’re doing so well, Montana. We’re all so, so proud of you, and Little Jonah will be so proud to have you as a mom when he gets older,” she whispered in my ear before she led her family away.
A tear slid down my cheek at her kind words. Jonah silently wiped it away before softly kissing me. Once I had myself back together again, I looked up at Blaze. “Well?”
He cupped the side of my neck and pressed his lips to mine. “You did incredible, sweetheart. Proud of you.”
Jonah slid his hands along my waist. “I believe we need to take you home and reward you.”
“Jesus Christ,” my brother swore, shaking his head as he walked up, clearly hearing what Jonah said. I laughed. He pressed a kiss to my forehead. “You did good, little sis. I’ll see you later, yeah?”
I nodded and quickly hugged him before he melted into the crowd. With a giggle, I looked up at my two men. “Well, what the hell are we waiting for?”
Jonah snorted and grabbed my hand in his, leading me out of the building. We got stopped by a few more fans before we made it to Blaze’s truck, and I took some pictures and signed some books and other stationery as we went.
I meant every word I said during that interview. I’d gone through hell and back, but in the end, I’d gained a much better family, and my child would always have a safe place to lay his head at night.
And that? That was all I could ever fucking ask for.
