Nox opened his mouth as well and she darted her tongue inside, teasing him, inviting him to reciprocate. She could taste her own secret flavor on his lips and it made her even hotter. When Nox slipped his own tongue past her lips, she sucked it gently, a soft moan coming from her throat.

He answered with a rumbling growl of desire and tightened his grip on her as the kiss became passionate. Seline felt a lump growing under her behind and it occurred to her that this was almost certainly his first time making out with anyone and that he was possibly getting a little overheated. She had to remember that though he was a grown male and a seasoned warrior, these feelings were new to him and difficult to control.

Reluctantly, she pulled back, breaking the kiss.

“There…see?” she said, panting a little. “There are positive emotions too—lots of them. There’s also joy and love and happiness and contentment—and you won’t feel any of them if you get an emotion damper.”

“Well…” Nox looked indecisive. “Are all emotions this strong?” he asked her. “Right now I feel like I want to lose myself in you—like I am losing myself in you because I desire and care for you so much.”

Seline cupped his cheek and looked into his silver eyes.

“That’s what we call ‘falling in love,’ Nox,” she said softly. “And I know what you mean, because I feel it too—for you.”

“You do?” He raised an eyebrow, looking surprised. “You feel all this as intensely as I am?”

“Yes,” Seline assured him. “I do.” Leaning forward, she brushed his lips with hers once more.

“But…how do you keep yourself from committing actions that are wrong because of your emotions?” Nox asked, when she drew back. “Right now, I want to carry you back to the sleeping chamber and take you—to fill your soft little pussy with my shaft and make you mine forever.”

“I want that too,” Seline admitted. “But we can’t—not now—not in this universe.”

“I know that.” Nox looked frustrated. “And I am holding myself back, but it is so difficult when I want you so intensely!”

“Let’s get the other half of the Far Box,” Seline told him. “Then, after we get back to our own universe, we can do whatever we want to.”

His silver eyes were suddenly half-lidded with desire.

“Even if what I desire is to taste you again and then knot you and fill you with my cock and my cum—to Bond you to me forever?”

Seline felt her breath catch in her throat as a shiver of pure desire ran down her spine.

“Yes—especially that,” she murmured. “But first we have to get the other half of the Far Box.”

Nox sighed.

“Then you had better get off my lap. When you are this near me, I can think of nothing but you and how much I want you, Seline.”

She felt a little tingle of pleasure as she rose.

“I’ll just go get dressed while you look for a good spot for the meeting. Who knows, maybe we can get the Far Box and be back in our own universe by tonight?”

Nox nodded.

“It’s possible. Though it depends on getting the Kindred of the Mother Ship of this universe to fold space for us as well.”

“One thing at a time,” Seline told him. “Let’s get the other half of the Far Box first.”

“Agreed.” He nodded. “Go get dressed. I’ll find a good spot and get ready for our meeting with Lendrex.”

Seline nodded but as she left the cockpit of the ship, her heart was drumming in her chest. He wanted her—Nox wanted her as much as she had always wanted him!

It had seemed like such a disaster when they first had gotten dumped in this alternate universe, but if they hadn’t, Nox might never have started having emotions for her. Maybe the two of them would be Bonded by this evening!

She had no idea how wrong she was or what was coming…

THIRTY-SEVEN

NOX

The Hungry Biped was the most centralized and public eatery in the entire Tangle, if Nox’s research was correct, and he had no reason to think it wasn’t. It was a café in the center of the Main Hub—an area which had been roped off with floating, waist-high stay-out barriers that delivered a sharp electrical shock to anyone trying to cross through them.

Inside the roped-off area was a large round space filled with many metal tables and chairs in all sizes that would accommodate most bipeds, whatever their species. In the center of the tables was an open kitchen which filled the air with the savory smells of spiced, twice-roasted occu-chunks and tangle-weed salad in sikka squid-ink dressing—the specialty of the house.

“Peep-a-cheek?” Seline called, looking around anxiously as they were seated at the table. She had been looking for her lost pet from the minute they stepped out of the ship. Nox felt sorry for her, because it seemed to be nowhere in sight.
