“Wow, fucking wow,” he said.
Rosalie smiled up at him. He reached out and used his thumb to touch the corner of her mouth. When he presented his thumb to her, she sucked it into her mouth.
“Perfect,” he said.

Kim folded her arms and waited inside Dirty’s room for him to return. She wasn’t a fool. She’d called Warden and asked him if he’d sent Dirty to keep an eye on them. Her husband had told her no. He’d promised her a cruise with Gabrielle and Petal and that was exactly what he’d given her.
Warden was meant to be with her, but between the shit Daemon was up to, she knew it was next to impossible for him to come away with her. She wanted to be selfish, but she couldn’t do that to him or the club. They needed him. Once the problems were dealt with, everything would be okay and they could have their cruise.
Dirty walked into the room whistling, only to catch sight of her, and he stopped. He looked at the door and then at her.
“Close the door,” she said.
“Have I upset you?” he asked.
“No, tell me why my son sent you here.” After Warden had told her the truth and he had no reason to lie to her, Kim had watched.
She saw Dirty constantly at Petal’s side, not allowing the other woman to breathe. It didn’t take her long to deduct that her son had sent him. Dirty gripped the back of his neck, and she saw the lies already building up. She took a step toward him.
“Be careful what lies you tell and remember who I am.”
He swallowed.
“Colt wants some time alone with Rosalie and she’s so close with Petal that he never gets that chance.”
“And you’re here to what? Distract her?”
“Yeah, in a way. Just so he can spend time with Rosalie.”
It sounded all aboveboard but Kim knew her son. He wasn’t someone who was so quickly swayed.
She took another step toward Dirty. “Why?”
Dirty stared at her and it was the perfect mask, she’d give him that, but she also knew he was hiding something.
“Tell me, now.”
Chapter Sixteen
Colt stared down at his chest.
Rosalie didn’t get the chance to go to her own room last night. She’d stayed with him and slept in his arms. He’d never stayed with a woman. He had fucked a lot of women, but this part—waking up next to them—he always avoided.
In sleep, Rosalie looked so at peace, like she didn’t have a single care in the world. It made him realize that when she woke up, she was constantly troubled. There was always a frown above her brow. The deepening of her brow depended on the day.
Pressing his face to the top of her head, he breathed her in. He didn’t know what scent she used, but it was something sweet and floral. It must be why he didn’t mind her snuggling up against him.
She suddenly moved, a little tension in her body and then she relaxed, releasing a breath. As if right on time, his cell phone started and the moment he’d been enjoying with his wife disappeared as she sat up straight. He shoved his blankets off and padded toward the cabinet against the far wall. Checking the screen, he saw his mother was calling him. Why would she be calling unless there was bad news? Petal and Gabrielle better be safe. Rosalie would never forgive him if they had a freak accident that rendered them either lost at sea or eaten by sharks.
“It’s my mom, I’ve got to take this.”
Rosalie smiled at him but there was that frown between her brows, the one he hoped to remove in time. Forcing a smile to his lips, he stepped out of the bedroom and pressed the little green button on the phone to accept the call.
“Hey, Mom, what’s up?”
“How is it going in paradise?” Kim asked.
Colt frowned. “I’m not sure I follow you.”
“Your plan is to what, make her fall in love with you, and then tell me what happens after that, and let’s talk about Petal, huh? Do you want to tell me what miraculous idea you have there?”
“Dirty told you.”
“I’m not a fool, son, and I don’t like being treated like one. Well, had you thought everything through, or was this one of your idiotic ideas?” Kim asked.
“It’s not idiotic.”
“Why? Because you thought of it?”
He pressed his fingers to the bridge of his nose. “I need her on my side.” He made sure to lower his voice and move away from the bedroom.
“And the idea of perhaps gaining her trust was just a little too much. Instead, you’re looking to make her fall in love with you, and when this is over, what will you do then? Tell her it was all part of your plan and dump her ass?”
