Petal walked over to her and placed the order form through the partition for Al.

“He’s cute,” Petal said.

“Who?”

“Don’t know his name but I saw him last night. You have to admit he’s kind of cute.”

Rosalie chuckled. “Cute to kind of cute in less than a minute. That’s a record.”

Petal winked at her. “He’s soft-spoken, which seems strange. I don’t know.”

She looked toward the biker that had taken one of the small tables. Nibbling her lip, she wondered what was going on with Petal. The smile on her friend’s face was different. She glanced toward the biker then at Petal.

“Do you have a crush?” she asked, nudging her friend with her hip.

Petal swatted her with the notebook. “Shut up. No. I’m just … since you’ve attracted a whole lot of MCs, I’ve gotten used to their gruff and tough … stuff. You know.”

“Yep, that I do know.”

“He’s kind of sweet, it’s refreshing, that’s all.” Petal rolled her eyes.

“Don’t forget to offer him coffee.”

Petal had already picked up the pot. “Way ahead of you.”

Rosalie laughed and grabbed the cleaning basket, heading over to the table she and Petal had sat at. She moved from table to table, cleaning and carrying any debris that had been left. The time from lunch until dinner was always quiet, but it gave them the perfect chance to get on top of cleaning. She had never considered herself someone who enjoyed cleaning, but in the past few weeks, this was her favorite time as it allowed her to think.

Something was going on with Colt, and she didn’t think a honeymoon would solve their problems. In fact, she knew deep in her soul that it wouldn’t. She rubbed at her temple and then looked out the window to see her father leaning against his bike. This was the last thing she needed. Petal had spotted him as well.

The guy sitting at the table turned to look. “You don’t need to go out there,” he said.

“It’s just my dad,” she said.

If she didn’t go out to him, her mother would pay.

Her hands shook a little as she stepped out of the sanctuary of the diner. It seemed to be the one place on earth that the clubs didn’t fight or bring their war shit. Even her father hadn’t come into the diner to cause trouble. She didn’t know if this was an agreement Al had, or just out of respect for one of the best diners in the county. Either way, she much preferred being inside.

Her father wasn’t alone. Stepping out, she saw he had two men at his back.

Rosalie approached, but not within touching distance. “What brings you here?” Rosalie asked.

“I just got a call from Warden asking me if I’d be interested in throwing a honeymoon party for the happily married couple.”

She kept her palms open wide. “Colt has asked me to go away with him on a honeymoon.”

“And I hear you’ve moved in with him.”

“Yes.”

“And your mother suddenly has a social life.”

“She and Kim hit it off while organizing the wedding.”

Daemon glared at her. She looked right back at him.

“And she is going on a cruise the same day you’re going away.”

Colt had mentioned that her mother would be taken care of.

“I believe so. She’s excited about going away. She’s never taken a vacation and I believe it’s a girls’ thing. Her and Kim.”

Would he leave?

She heard the diner’s door open, and out stepped the Satan’s Death Rider that had been flirting with Petal. Daemon smiled.

“Is everything going okay here?” he asked.

“Dirty, right?” Daemon asked.

“Yes.”

“Do you have a problem with me talking to my daughter?”

“No, not at all. I was enjoying some good food and company. Wanted to make sure everything was okay.”

Rosalie tensed up, as the man now called Dirty put his hands on her shoulder.

“I know Colt doesn’t like it when his woman’s upset.”

Daemon looked toward her. “His woman?” Daemon asked.

“I am Colt’s wife,” Rosalie said.

“That you are.”

Daemon didn’t look happy but Colt had thought of everything. Her mother, herself, which only left Petal. Her father looked toward the diner and Rosalie felt the panic surging up inside her.

“Tell your mom I hope she has a good time with Kim,” Daemon said.

The threat was there.

“Did you hear the news?” Dirty said. “Kim and Gabrielle have invited Petal along. Seeing as her best friend is being taken away on a honeymoon with Colt, it’s only fair they don’t leave her hanging.”

It was a twitch. Subtle, but there. Rosalie caught it. Daemon was going to hurt her best friend while she was away, she knew it. Had Dirty?

“Excellent. I look forward to seeing you off,” Daemon said.

She didn’t move as he straddled his bike and took off, taking his two men with him.

Rosalie pulled out of Dirty’s arms and looked toward the diner. “It’s true?” she asked. “Please, tell me it’s true.”
