I have so much I could show her. Why not make the most of the weekend? After that—

Nah. Not gonna think about it right now. I’m just going to assume this morning—this trip—is never going to end. Maybe if I want it enough, I can bend the laws of the universe.

I thrust a little deeper. A little harder. I feel her tits bounce against my chest. She even starts to roll her hips, meeting me at the apex of every stroke.

Grinning, I say, “Fast learner.”

“Uh-huh. I like—this. Oh, Brooks.” She closes her eyes, turning her head on the pillow. Her fingers tighten their grip on my hand. “I like this a lot.”

I thrust one last time. A gentle but deep stroke. My vision goes blurry at the edges. “I’m gonna come. The condom—it’ll be fine if I come inside, unless—”

“Yes,” she breathes, arching her back.

The orgasm slams into me. It’s like being taken out by Mack truck. The muscles in my legs tighten to the point of pain. I squeeze my eyes shut and empty myself into the condom in hard, roaring pulses. Beneath me, Greer’s body is a quiet counterpoint to the rip of feeling that’s happening inside me. She holds my hand and runs her fingers through the hair at the back of my neck. Soothing me.

Catching me. But somehow I keep falling.

I cannot keep up with all the things this girl makes me feel.

After a small eternity, I’m finally able to breathe. I open my eyes. Greer is watching me. This look in her eyes that turns my heart inside out.

“Talk.”

Her eyes move between mine. “That was . . . good.”

“Be honest. I know it hurt.”

“It did hurt. But I really did like it. You’re kind of excellent at this, Brooks.”

I scoff. “Kind of?”

She gives my chest a shove. “Like you need the ego boost.”

“I’m going to pull out of you, okay? Don’t move—I don’t want anything to spill. I should’ve asked before, but are you on birth control?”

Her cheeks, already pink, flush red. “I’m not, no. I haven’t needed it, so . . .”

“You should be on something. I don’t mind using condoms, but the extra precaution can’t hurt.”

“Okay. Yeah, sure, I’ll call my doctor when we get back to Charlotte.”

I don’t like the mention of Charlotte and her life there. For the next forty-eight hours, that life doesn’t exist.

It can’t, if I want to enjoy this.

I pull out slowly, but she still winces. I look down to where our bodies were joined. Frown when I see a smear of red on the condom.

“Shit. You’re bleeding.”

She jerks. “I am?”

“Goddamn it, I shouldn’t have gone so hard—”

“Yes,” she says, putting that hand on my chest again, “you should have. I asked you to. I’m okay, I promise.”

I still shake my head. “Stay right here. Don’t move, understand?”

“Brooks—”

“Stay there.”

Her chest rises on an inhale. “Okay.”

I climb out of bed, my gaze lingering on Greer’s naked body. Long neck. Proud, strong shoulders. Her breasts are the perfect handful, a little heavier on the undersides. Nipples the same raspberry shade of pink as her lips. They’re hardened to small, puffy points. Her stomach caves as she breathes. She’s drawn her legs together, but I can just glimpse the slick red of her slit, surrounded by neatly trimmed dark hair.

I curse when I see more blood on the sheets. Greer sees it too, and for a horrible second I think she’s going to cry again.

“I’ll take care of it,” I say gently. “It’s normal for this to happen the first time.”

In the bathroom, I take care of the condom. Then I run a washcloth under warm water and wring it out. Bringing it back to bed with me, I climb in beside Greer and press the washcloth against her center. She sighs.

“That okay?”

“Feels . . . good.” But she’s looking at me funny.

“What?”

Swallowing, she puts a hand on my arm. “Nothing. I like it when you hang out. You know, after we get naked.”

My chest tightens. What asshole made her think this is a gift? Me staying after we hook up?

I have so much to show this girl. Show her how it should be done.

When the washcloth goes cold, I kiss Greer’s breast. Her neck and her mouth. “Breakfast?”

“I’d love to,” she says with a smile. A real one.

I like making her happy. “Good. Because you’re gonna need some energy.”

“You have plans for me?”

“Knitting. Maybe a puzzle.” She laughs, and I kiss her mouth. “Now get dressed.”

The sooner we get to breakfast, the sooner we can get back in bed and play.

Chapter Fifteen

GREER

Brooks goes back to his room to grab a few things before we head downstairs to eat.

I take the time to wash up and throw on a dress. Catching my reflection in the bathroom mirror, I put a hand on my face. I look different. Well, the same. Same messy hair. Flushed cheeks.
