“Enter this guy.” Macklin pointed a thumb at himself, making me smile. “I love those men. They’ve always been there for me. I want them to be happy. I respect limits. I care.”
“You’re safe,” Tate murmured.
“I’m safe,” Macklin echoed. Then he glanced between Shay and me. “However your relationships develop, I think it’s more important to think about who you play with than what you do during play.”
Good point. I could already tell that some men would be safer to explore with than others, and that was solely for how I knew them. For instance, I knew Greer was a sweetheart. He was also head over heels in love with his own relationship that he shared with Sloan, Archie, and Corey. I trusted Greer. He was safe.
Plus, Corey was so ridiculously sexy! Like, a scene between us…? If he brought Greer, and I brought my Daddies? Oh my God. I felt like we could go further together just because we knew each other the way we did.
Perhaps I would include Archie and Sloan in that fantasy someday, but for now, I just didn’t know them well enough. That was all. They weren’t safe yet.
My first impressions were whispering of all good things in the future, though. Sloan struck me as a mix between Lucas and Reese.
When our food arrived, I couldn’t quite let go of the topic, even when the others moved on to discuss the next Game and where we’d host it. I didn’t know the theme of it yet, so I tuned out. I kept thinking of “safe” men. Other than Greer—and Corey—who would I imagine playing with? Who could I picture my Daddies with?
I took a big bite of my sandwich and slid my gaze to Noa, Cam, and Corey. Was Noa safe? I wasn’t sure. He was so wild! And uninhibited. Maybe Cam was more for me. Plus, I knew him well. He’d been my first friend in the community.
Oof, what about Abel and Madigan? My goodness. My stomach tightened at the thought. Madigan was wonderful and wicked, but… Abel was another matter. He was definitely safe. He’d be fun to kiss and touch.
Macklin and Tate?
Safe. Totally safe. I liked them lots. They were like big brothers, and I’d carried a bit of a crush on Macklin since the first time I saw him at a munch.
Shay… I liked him so much too, but he was like Noa. So, so wild and unpredictable during play.
I frowned to myself, realizing I wasn’t picturing many Doms. When I thought about playtime with others, it was primarily with subs. Except for Greer. Why was that? Well, Tate and Macklin too. They were switches but would probably be dominant with me—as Macklin had already said.
I had much to ponder. Much to discuss with my Daddies.
After we’d eaten, it was time to get down and dirty with our Secret Santa plans. The party was mere days away, and we still had a lot to do.
“All right, let’s go through the list,” Tate said.
I wasn’t great at being in charge of these things, so I was grateful for his help. Once I’d unfolded my printout, he read from it.
“Noa, you have Colt,” he went on. “How are we on that?”
“We’re done,” Noa replied happily. “I just have to gift wrap the last when I get home, and Cameron’s gonna help me.”
I couldn’t deny I was a little nervous. Nothing was secret about our Secret Santa game; all subs had decided together who was going to give a gift to whom. I had suggested Noa give Colt a gift, because they had a super-fun banter going on, and Colt would never see it coming. He was expecting Noa to brat off since that was what they did.
Tate had helped me organize the drawing of names—or couples. He’d made it look like everything was unintentional. So when a Dom received their note with the name of the sub they were paired with, the paper had a web address at the top, to give the impression we’d used one of those random-dot-org places. In reality, we’d spent hours forming our combos. But yeah, Colt and Noa would have one gift exchange. Shay and Kingsley were one couple. Corey and Reese were another.
And it was possible I was very happy about the fact that Greer and I had ended up together in the exchange.
“Kit? Is your gift for Greer ready?” Tate asked next.
“Almost,” I replied, glancing quickly at Corey. “We’re missing one piece, which we’ll sort out tomorrow.”
Corey nodded.
Because that was the genius thing about my plan. Our Doms were expecting to be pranked. They believed we were going to be bratty. But we weren’t. Corey and Archie were mainly in charge of my gift to Greer; they’d decided what I should give him. Just like they had decided what Gael should give to Sloan, just like I had been in charge of Noa’s gift to Colt and Cam’s gift to Lucas.
