“Wherever we lived, from the time we were really young, even before Grant came to live with us, Rhys and I had a tradition of finding a place that was our special hideout.” I paused and looked around.
“This shed is actually one of the nicest ones we’ve had. I didn’t know if he’d still want to create our special place after years in the marines and us being apart, but as soon as I joined him and Grant here, he told me about an unused shed he’d seen and how he wanted it to be ours. We each use it when we need to be alone, but we also hang out here together.” I bit my lip as I looked around again, suddenly feeling less sure I’d done the right thing inviting Ghost here. “We’re not supposed to let anyone else in, but…”
“You didn’t have to bring me here.”
“The cabin we used the other night is off-limits. Another of Grant’s marine buddies is moving in any day now.”
“Who?”
“Oh, shit. I forgot you’d know him too. It’s Blade. Apparently, he’ll probably keep to himself, but Grant likes knowing he’s somewhere he can get help if he needs it.”
Ghost frowned. “Yeah, he… he was in enemy hands for a while, and he’s got a lot of healing to do, more mental than physical, but sometimes that’s a lot harder.”
I knew there was a lot I couldn’t comprehend, but I did know it could be harder psychologically to get back in the ring after an injury than to heal from the injury itself. I could handle pain, but fear was a lot more dangerous. “I’m glad he’s got a place to come. Maybe the ranch will be good for him. Grant thinks so.”
“You still didn’t have to bring me here.”
“I think I can make Rhys understand if he finds out.”
Ghost took my hands in his. “We need to tell him about us. Grant already knows.”
“Shit. Did he say something to you when you were together today.”
“He told me to stay away from you, and I told him hell no.”
“So he knows?” My heart sped up and panic surged through me. I didn’t want him finding out and trying to ruin this.”
“He knows I’m interested in you and that his threats aren’t going to make me back down. He doesn’t know any specifics.”
I let out the breath I’d been holding. “That’s good.”
“We don’t have to stay here.”
“I want to. This place is special to me, and you… you are too.”
I bit my lip as I watched his reaction. He didn’t pull back like I’d feared. Instead, he smiled and gave me another gentle kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him in for more.
A few moments later, I said, “You’ve learned a lot about me, but I don’t know anything about your past.”
He started to kiss me again, but I moved back. “You’re not getting away with not answering me.”
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. “I don’t like to talk about my past. I’ve never told anyone about all the shit I dealt with. Telling you about my brother was… It wasn’t easy. I’m not sure I can give anymore.”
“Did you join the marines right after high school?”
“It wasn’t very long after that. I realized it was my best chance to escape my life.”
“Just like Grant and Rhys.”
“We have a lot in common.”
“Shitty families, a need to find a way out, a fuzzy sense of morality?”
He rolled his eyes. “Yes. All that.”
I wanted to push him harder, but there were so many things I didn’t want to talk about either, so I pulled him to me for another kiss. As we devoured each other, he encouraged me to straddle him. It felt so good to rub myself against him as we made out. I almost wanted to keep going and rub off on each other like we were teenagers, but when Ghost started opening my pants, I knew that would never have been enough. I needed his hands on my skin.
As he pulled my dick out, I removed my t-shirt and dropped it on the floor. Then I took his shirt off too, and it joined mine.
Ghost’s hands fumbled with the fastenings of his pants, so I helped him get his zipper down before wrapping my hand around his thick shaft and pulling it free.
He groaned as I stroked him, moving my hand slowly up and down, loving the feel of him. I shifted my hips, bringing our cocks together and wrapping my hand around us both.
He thrust up into my grip. “More. Harder.”
I reached into my pocket and pulled out the lube I’d brought. I squirted some into my hand, then rubbed each of our cocks. If we were going to do this right, we needed to be able to slide against each other.
