And when she lifted her chin and looked at me, I knew what it was going to be. Because the brunette smiled hesitantly and tipped her chin ever so slightly to the side.

“So Mr. President,” she mewled softly. “What’s next? I think I have two hours until the car comes again. Is there something you wanted to do in particular? I’m a very flexible girl.”

The question made the air in my lungs freeze because in fact, there was something I wanted from the curvy girl … and fortunately, the time was right.

CHAPTER FIVE

Bridget

Oh my god, I can’t believe this is happening. Robert from the website is actually Robert Carter, President of the United States, Commander in Chief, and leader of the free world. The most powerful man on the planet in fact. I could hardly breathe at first but in a weird way, it made sense.

Because President Carter can’t get out there like a normal man. He’s constantly under the spotlight with the press, paparazzi, and even mere citizens hounding him for policy changes in this or that. So I can understand the need for discretion, although creating your own escort company from scratch seems pretty crazy. But then again, who am I to say? This man has untold resources at his disposal, and anything is possible with a snap of his fingers.

I took a deep breath. Keep calm, Bridget, the voice in my head spoke. Robert’s the president but he’s also godawful gorgeous.

Because it was true. Most politicians look like sacks of flour dressed in floppy suits, but President Carter was something else altogether. The man was a full six four, with a commanding presence, his big body muscled and powerful. Plus, there were those cerulean eyes and the flashing white smile. They read well on camera, and I could now attest that in person, they were even more irresistible.

Of course, the voice in my head chided. Robert Carter got fifty million people to vote for him in the last election. This guy is pure magic, not to mention the pride of the Democratic party.

I gulped. Because it was true. President Carter was often referred to as a “natural,” a “master politician,” and “the ultimate catch.” The last one was from various women’s magazines who’ve named him “Most Eligible Bachelor” multiple times. In fact, I’d been in charge of the poll at the Star Gazette which had polled readers on who was the “Hottest Man Alive.” Of course, Robert won by a huge margin. It wasn’t even close.

I gulped again because what did I have to offer someone so gorgeous and desirable? But lo and behold, here we were now, and I wanted to make the most of it. Maybe we’d only have this one time together, but I wanted to feel those hands on me … and another part of him in me to be specific.

“So what’s next?” I whispered, lifting my eyes to his. The blue gaze seized mine, darkening to a deep cobalt. “Where do we go from here?”

A lazy grin crept over his face, the air suddenly crackling with electricity. But his next words took me by surprise.

“Well, if you’re okay with it, sweetheart, I’d love to hear your opinion on the Second Amendment.”

I gaped.

“I-I’m sorry?” I stammered. “What was that again?” I’ve always been so terrible with the Bill of Rights, and Civics was my worst subject in school. So I flushed with shame, stammering out an apology. “What was the Second Amendment about?”

He grinned.

“The right to carry arms. Do Americans have that right or is gun control necessary?”

Oh shit. The truth is that I’ve never even thought about this subject. Sure, I scan the newspaper for headlines and sometimes read an article about this or that. But an in-depth discussion about the right to carry arms? I was out of my league with this one.

I smiled weakly.

“Um sure, I think people should have that ability,” I said in a small voice. “I know there’s a lot more than that, but I need some time to read up.”

The President grinned lazily, still swirling the amber liquid in his glass.

“What do you think about bump stocks? Or large-scale automatic weapons for that matter?” he drawled. “The kind that can fire hundreds of rounds at once.”

I gulped again. To be honest, I had no idea what a bump stock was.

“It’s okay?” I said with a question at the end of the sentence. “I’m all for arming yourself,” was my reply. Oh god, the words sounded so dumb coming from my mouth but what could I do? After all, this wasn’t exactly my area of expertise. I’m not someone who knows the details about current events because most of the time when I should be reading the Wall Street Journal or something else similarly educational, I’m actually reading a celebrity magazine. Sue me.
