“What do you want?” I finally ask as she makes her way into the bathroom and tosses a towel at my face.

Tessa leans down and grins. “Insurance.”

I’m still frowning when she walks off. Quinn can’t even look me in the eyes… I don’t blame him, it’s awkward as hell, and had I not seen what I’d seen, I would have never believed it even happened.

All I remember is being hot and horny.

That’s it.

“Bro,” I start out.

“Not now,” he says quickly. “I can’t even… I can’t process it right now. Let’s just go home, shower, and just figure out a way to delete the video from her phone by any means necessary.”

“So…” Tessa pushes me closer to the locker, jarring me out of the painful memory. I don’t know what to do, I swear I have PTSD from her. That one moment defined our relationship with her, or lack thereof, it eventually ruined our friendship, it eventually destroyed us, and now she’s back, and I’m both petrified and full of rage. “You wanna hang out? Talk about old times?”

I’m on the verge of saying something like, I want to choke you when MB just comes in guns blazing and kisses the shit out of me. I don’t even have time to react, and then I do. I kiss her back so hard you’d think it was my life’s work, my life’s goal.

She’s all over me, her tongue shoves so far into my mouth I have to open it wider to accept her. My hands are suddenly on her ass, and then it’s all over. I know it’s over because everyone saw.

And I’m living with her.

And this is an actual disaster, but I don’t care because she didn’t think about what people would say. She thought about me.

So when she pulls back, I pull her right back in and kiss her again and again until Tessa finally walks away, her heels slamming against the tile floor.

When we stop kissing, MB looks up at me with large eyes. “Whoops.”

“You know, you’re really bad at following orders and the rules on the fridge.”

Her smile is wide when she responds. “Sorry, I was hungry.”

“By all means…” I lean in. “…eat.”

She kisses me again, and now it’s like neither of us can stop, I’m sure people have phones up filming, and all I keep thinking is, well, if we’re going to burn in Hell, destroy my family’s reputation, and dine with Satan, may as well make it official.

I reach for her ass and grind against her, then throw her against the locker. We keep kissing until a teacher starts yelling at us.

And then, we both make eye contact and laugh.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Mary-Belle

The world didn’t end. That’s really the only thing I keep repeating in my head as Ambrose drives me home with Quinn in the backseat banging his head against the window like it’s going to make everything better.

All it took was Quinn seeing the kiss, then watching Tessa walk off, for him to jump into action.

I mean, pulling the fire alarm was probably not the best idea in the world, but nobody caught him, and it caused much more drama around the school than a few people in the hall seeing us kiss.

Rumors haven’t spread—yet.

I’m sure they will, but until then, we’re safe, and I don’t need to change my identity and move to a foreign country. Plus, people make out all the time in high school, it can mean nothing.

Right?

Ambrose had pulled away from the kiss and frowned down the hall, only to see Quinn flip him off and disappear.

Apparently, that was all the invitation he needed to invite Quinn over to make a plan of attack about Tessa.

I’m still confused about how two eighteen-year-old athletes with more muscles than she has in her pinky finger are intimidated by her, but I also know that manipulative women can be terrifying.

“Did you love her?” I break the silence.

Ambrose slams on the brakes at the red light. “Sorry.”

Quinn’s head bangs against the front seat. “Shit, a warning next time!”

“Sorry, I was just surprised.”

Quinn starts rubbing the front of his forehead. “Damn, I’m gonna bruise.”

“He bruises easily.” Ambrose hits the gas again, throwing Quinn back against his seat. “How’s the head?”

“Hate you,” Quinn grumbles. “You aren’t in NASCAR, bro.”

“But I could be.” Ambrose grins.

“You’d crash into a wall during the first lap and go boom, but sure, everyone needs a dream.”

“Someone’s cranky.” Ambrose must find joy in it.

Quinn rolls his eyes. “Yeah, well Satan rose up from Hell and decided to join us in second Hell, and I didn’t get to kiss a hot girl today, so forgive me for being cranky.”

“Aw, you think I’m hot.” I tease.

Ambrose growls. “Not the time.”

“Possessive of your foster sister much?” Quinn grins at Ambrose through the rearview mirror.

Ambrose glares right back.

Quinn holds up his hands in surrender. “Wow, it’s worse than I thought.”
