“The sun will be up soon.”

“We should sleep,” he said. “Are you cold?”

Eloise shook her head. “My body’s on fire.”

“Mine too.” He leaned in to kiss her but paused. “I want to kiss you because I can’t get enough of you. I’ve never had my body react this way to anyone.”

“I feel the same way, Kiel.”

Kiel tipped her chin up and pressed his lips to hers. He kept it chaste, giving their bodies time to recover. Whether or not they wanted to admit it, they both needed some sleep.

When the first light woke them, they made their way to the shower. Eloise washed her smudged artwork off Kiel’s torso, and he asked if he could wash her hair. She let him and whimpered in satisfaction. After they’d cleaned themselves of paint and dried off, they crawled into bed, where he slowly made love to her again. This time, it was different. This time, they never took their eyes off each other and swallowed each other’s cries. There was an electricity between them—something Kiel couldn’t explain. He could only feel the zing. The high he got from being near her. Each thrust brought him closer to the edge. She matched his rhythm, bringing her hips up to meet his.

After they climaxed together, they lay there quietly basking in the afterglow. He was sure neither of them would walk straight when rolled out of bed. Sleep eventually took him, dragging him into a dreamland where Eloise was part of his daily life, and everything was the way it was supposed to be. Whatever that was supposed to mean.

An alarm sounded, causing him to jolt upright. He found the offending sound and shut it off before falling back into bed. Next to him, dark hair covered the tanned back of the woman who made his body ache. He moved the curtain of hair covering her face and kissed her forehead.

“Your alarm went off,” he said as he tried to wake her.

The words coming out of Eloise’s mouth were a jumble mix of incoherent gibberish. Kiel laughed. She was cute when she woke up. Hell, she was cute at any time of the day, but more so now. He moved the sheet down, exposing her perfectly plump ass, and cringed when he saw the red marks his hands had left. During one of their romps, he smacked her ass. That was something he had never done before and for the life of him, couldn’t understand why he had the urge to do it.

Eloise had liked it.

A lot.

He did it again until she came.

Kiel groaned and ran his hand over his face. He didn’t want to think he hurt her and hoped she would tell him as much. She moved beside him, moaning as she readjusted.

“I feel like I had too much to drink, or you wrecked me. Either way, it’s a compliment to how wonderfully achy my body feels right now.”

“The only thing you drank—” Nope, he couldn’t bring himself to say the words.

Eloise looked at him. “I’m drunk off your junk.”

Kiel gagged. “Don’t say that. I still can’t believe you did that.”

“Has no one ever done that for you before?”

He shook his head.

Eloise shrugged. “Their loss. I enjoyed it and it was something I wanted to do for you.”

“Thank you.”

She leaned toward him and kissed him. “Good morning, handsome.”

“Handsome?”

A smile spread across her face. “Please tell me you know you’re sexy?”

He lifted his shoulder and grimaced. Eloise propped herself up on her elbow. “Has no one told you that you’re sexy? Hot? Fucking amazing in bed?”

“I’ve been told I’m good looking.”

“Nah.” Eloise sat up. “You’re a fucking smoke show, Kiel. These eyes,” she said as she lightly traced his eyebrows, “are so soulful, framed by eyelashes that could make every female jealous. Then these cheekbones,” she moved her finger to his cheek, gently caressing it as his eyes fluttered closed at the contact, “could cut paper. They are so sharp. And as for this mouth,” she leaned forward and tugged his lips with her teeth, “so skillful and dominant and I can’t get enough of it. The first time I saw you, bam. My lady bits were like hello, stranger. And I don’t normally pay any attention to tourists, but you . . .” She poked his chest for emphasis. “You freaking hit me square in the chest and that has never happened before. I spent the next day looking for you in crowds when I should’ve been focused on painting.”

“And yet, I feel like you dodged me.”

Eloise smiled shyly. “I sort of did. I couldn’t let you catch me on your first try.”

Kiel pulled her into his arms and kissed her wildly while tickling her. She yelped and pretended to fight back, but never tried to get away. When they had their wits about them again, they laughed.
