Caroline nodded. “I’d feel bad knowing you’re short-handed. Besides, I like my job.”

“Your boss likes having you there,” Dune said quietly.

“Will others frown upon us being . . .” Her words trailed off. He didn’t know what they were “being” but he liked it. Seeing her, being near her, and working with her every day gave him something to look forward to. Sure, Dune loved his job. He enjoyed being the highlight of everyone’s vacation, but Caroline brought something different to work when she was there.

Maybe it was her naivety about the job, doing something she has no qualifications for and refuses to show it. Or the fact that no matter what he throws at her, she’s always fucking smiling.

“We can go shopping,” he said, stepping closer to her naked body. Shopping was his least favorite thing to do. However, something told him that shopping with Caroline was going to be wholly different from anything he’d ever experienced, and he wanted to be there to try it.

Dune led her into the cramped bathroom. This wasn’t the ideal setup to shower in, but he wanted to hold her, caress her. He wasn’t ready to go back to people, especially people who knew him. Like, really knew him.

He fiddled with the shower, turning it on and then stepped in. He held his hand out for her, holding it as she moved over the tiny lip. “We can’t be in here for a long.”

“The water feels perfect.” Caroline stood under the spray, facing Dune. He swallowed hard at the sight of her nipples puckering and the water droplets running down her skin. He touched one pebble, and then another, watching the goosebumps rise on her skin.

Dune bent slightly and took her breast into his mouth. He’d never been much of a boob man until now. Before, they were just tits. He’d give them attention and move on. But Caroline’s were different. Her plump mounds demanded attentiveness. Loving. Caressing. Dune couldn’t get enough of them and felt as if they were created just to satisfy a need he never knew existed until now.

Caroline quivered when Dune teased her nipples with his fingers. He smiled, knowing he made her feel this way. He kissed her deeply, his tongue exploring her mouth, and then moved lower, his hands sliding down her stomach to her waist, and finally to where he wanted to be. Dune slipped his hand between her legs and found her already wet with desire.

Dune’s fingers explored her delicate folds, eliciting a moan from deep within her. His thumb pressed against her clit and then he pushed two fingers inside of her. As much as he wanted to be buried in her, he didn’t have protection. While he worked her, his other hand reached for his cock. The first stroke made him groan.

“Allow me,” Caroline said as she moved his hand out of the way. Dune looked down, in between them, and loved what he saw. His hand buried between her legs, working her body to reach its peak, while her firm grip around his erection did the same. He closed his eyes and his head fell back when her fingers grazed the sensitive tip, loving the sensation.

“God, I want you right now.” He looked into her eyes when he spoke the words.

“Me, too.”

Dune reached behind her and shut the water off. Their shower could wait. She followed him out of the bathroom and into the bedroom, just as eager as he. By the time he got a condom out of the drawer, she was on the bed, once again beckoning him to come to her.

“Gladly,” he said as he sheathed his erection and crawled toward her. In one push, he brought them together.

In the middle of her senior year of college, Caroline made the plans to come to Seaport. She had never been there before, knew nothing about it other than what she could find online, and generally had no idea what to expect. She had set her own expectations, such as always having a good time regardless of the situation. Always find something to do, explore or visit. And to make friends.

A week into her extended vacation, Caroline felt like she had achieved most of her hopes. With one very big one being the friends portion. She loved hanging out with Ana, Wilson and Speed, and sometimes the women the guys brought around. And then there was Dune, the grumpy flirt who let everything roll off his back if you turned him down, which she had when he first asked her to join them for dinner at Diego’s. He didn’t care that she said no, because he knew the next one he asked would say yes.

Except, he saw something in Caroline and didn’t give up. She was extremely thankful for him. In more ways than she could count now. She didn’t consider him a friend, at least not in the sense she did Wilson and Speed. Dune was more. Yet at times she wondered if he was really there with her or if this was one of those Captain Blue Balls moments.
