“I’m next,” I inform David and Kyle, choosing a cue to chalk up.

“How about we play partners, Reed?” Zoe purrs, brushing her breasts against my arm. Fuck, why can’t girls accept when I say I have a girlfriend, that means no?

“I thought I left you in the kitchen.”

“Reed, you’re such a dick.” David steps over to Zoe like a pathetic puppy. She doesn’t spare him a glance.

“Can’t get rid of me that easily,” she coos.

David’s eyes are worshipping Zoe like she’s a Victoria’s Secret model.

Taking pity on him, I decide to give him some sound advice. “If you want girls to want you, you need to be a dick.”

David coughs, his face turning pink. Zoe wrinkles her nose.

Whatever. I tried. “Zoe, this is David. He wants to be your white knight.”

If possible, David’s face turns even redder. God, I truly am a dick. I need to find Jax. It’s obvious I shouldn’t be on my own tonight.

“What if I want a dark knight?” Zoe hops onto the edge of the pool table, her short skirt riding up so that David and I have a perfect view of her red panties. Averting my eyes, I try to look at anything else. The last thing I need to happen is for someone to see this girl and mention it to Tess.

“I’ll be back with my brother,” I say, leaving before Zoe can stop me.

I find Jax upstairs with the redhead doing shots. Great!

“Jax,” I yell over the music, “let’s play pool.”

He looks over, a wicked grin on his face. “Sure.” Taking the redhead’s hand, he follows me.

Zoe perks up as soon as I return, her eyes narrowing on Jax.

“Wow, there are two of you?” She’s practically drooling. I want to tell her we don’t turn fifteen for a couple months, just to fuck with her. I’m guessing she thinks we’re older, but I won’t. It would mess up Jax’s chances of getting laid tonight. Instead, I take another shot and keep quiet.

The two girls are crap pool players. I have nothing to talk about except that I miss my girlfriend. Somehow, I think that might be a buzzkill. So, I spend the next couple of hours trying to keep Zoe’s hands from wandering to places they shouldn’t. Jax has disappeared with the redhead, and I’m completely drunk. Out of the corner of my eye, I try to focus on the girls from school. They’re whispering and trying to act like they’re not watching Zoe and me.

Zoe rubs her small body against me. “I want to fuck you,” she slurs in my face, her hands grabbing my dick. Shit, this is getting out of hand.

“Listen Zoe…” I take her hand away. She pouts.

“I told you, I have a girlfriend. Maybe when my brother comes back, he can help you out.”

“Right… the girlfriend!” She starts to giggle. “Although, I don’t see no girlfriend.” She leans into me, and her breasts brush my chest. “Unless you mean one of those girls over there.” She frowns as she points in Tiffany’s direction.

“Fuck no,” I say quickly, putting her hand down. Comparing Tiffany to Tess is a slap in the face.

“She’s not here tonight, but I don’t cheat.” God, it’s time to go home. I need Tess. My eyes scan the room as if someone could save me.

“But I want you,” she whines. “These high school girls have no idea how to fuck, but I do.” Licking her lips, she gazes at me and winks. “I won’t tell if you won’t tell.”

One more time, she tries to touch me. Grabbing her wrist roughly, I see her eyes dart to mine in surprise.

“I have a girlfriend!” I let her go, and she stumbles back, catching herself on the back of a chair. Her eyes are dilated. She should be pissed, but instead, she looks like she wants to drop to her knees and worship me.

“I’m out of here.” I’m definitely regretting that last shot.

“Wait, Reed… At least give me a goodbye kiss. That’s not against the rules.”

I want to tell her it is, but she trips and falls into my arms. There’s no choice but to hold on to her or let her face-plant. Her perfume permeates my nose, and it’s all so wrong. This whole fucked-up day has been all wrong.

Hearing my brother’s laugh, I search for where it’s coming from. Finally, I locate him sitting in the corner, his whole body radiating confidence. It’s obvious he talked the redhead into having sex with him.

His eyes wander up and down Zoe and me. “What are you doing, Reed?” Disapproval covers his face.

“This,” I say, dumping Zoe into his arms. The redhead squeals as Zoe giggles. Hopefully he’ll get lucky with both of them.

“I’ll send Jay back for you as soon as I’m home,” I yell over the music.
