He unbuckles his belt. “Stop fucking complaining and suck my cock, you bitch.”

I stop the video.

Simon looks furious. “You stole that from me.”

I lift an eyebrow. “You filmed this without her knowledge.”

“It was consensual.”

“Didn’t look fucking consensual to me.” I lean close. “You know what I hate more than an asshole who hands a beautiful woman a list of twenty-eight things he wants her to change about herself? It’s a raping son of a bitch.”

Simon’s lips twist with indignation. “She wanted it.”

“Shall I hit play again so we can see how she says no, but you don’t listen?”

His mind races behind pale-blue eyes. “It was a game we played.”

“Role-play? That’s seriously how you want to spin it?”

His eyes narrow. “You have no proof it wasn’t.”

“Yeah, I do, because you filmed it all, asshole.”

His throat bobs as he struggles to swallow. “You son of a bitch, how dare you do this to me. You broke into my house.”

“Not me. An associate of mine. He’s really good at finding out secrets. In your case, a drawer full of flash drives with some very dubious content on them.”

“You asshole,” he seethes.

“No, I’m the Don De Kysa, and you will do well to remember that.”

Balking, he darts his eyes to Bella. “You’re involved with this?”

He looks at her with such disgust that my hand itches for my gun.

“Don’t you look at her until I say you can look at her,” I growl.

He wants to fight me but knows it’s not in his best interest.

“Let’s get one thing straight. From this moment forward, you will do exactly what I say or face the consequences. First, you’re going to apologize to my wife for being an undeserving pig who doesn’t know how to treat women. Then I will give you the flash drives.”

Simon’s eyes round. “All of this because I didn’t think she was good enough for me?”

I take an intimidating step toward him. The room is still noisy, but some people nearby stop talking to watch.

My voice is low and dangerous. “She’s the only reason you are still breathing, do you understand? The only reason you aren’t worm food is because I know she wouldn’t want me to hurt you. So I’d start hedging your bets, you dumb fuck, and start showing her the respect she deserves. Now, apologize to her before I forget what my wife wants and make you eat my fucking gun.”

“Fine, you son of a bitch.” He glares at me, but he’s trembling as he narrows his eyes to Bella. “I’m sorry.” He looks back at me. “There, are you satisfied?”

Yeah, this guy has a death wish.

“I’m pretty sure I could shoot you in front of everyone here and none of them would give a goddamn. Now, apologize again, but this time with more feeling,”

He glares at me. There is only one way out, and he knows it.

He looks at Bella. “I’m sorry. I was a jerk. I should’ve treated you better.”

I look at my queen. Gone is the uncertainty on her face.

“Satisfied?” I ask her.

She narrows her eyes as she looks at Simon. “No, I don’t think he really means it.”

Simon makes the supreme mistake of rolling his eyes.

Bella folds her arms. “Perhaps if he were on his knees.”

“You’re right.” I agree. “Get on your knees and apologize.”

“On my knees? I won’t get on—”

I open my jacket so he can see my gun. “When I tell you to do something, you fucking do it. Now, for the last fucking time, get on your fucking knees and apologize to Bella.”

Rage tightens his expression. But fear forces him to his knees.

“I’m sorry, okay? I’m sorry.”

Around us, more and more people start to pay attention, and it’s humiliating for him.

I glance at my wife who stares at the man on his knees in front of her. “Happy, my love?”

She smiles and winks at me. “Very.”

Still on his knees, Simon looks up at me with pleading eyes. “I did what you wanted. Now give me the flash drive.”

I throw it at him.

He thinks he’s in the clear.

But tomorrow the police will pay him a visit.

Humiliated, he glances at all the people now watching and whispering.

I shoot the pathetic asshole a dark look. “Tearing down someone and blowing holes in their confidence makes you an asshole. Doing it to Bella—it was a big fucking mistake.”

I lean down.

“By the way, I bought that run-down festering pit of a house of yours. Tomorrow, the bulldozers move in. Feel free to go and watch.”

It’s the final blow.

He drops his head to his hands.

Bella

We escape the party and run through the rain to an awaiting limousine and slide into the back seat.

As far as ex-boyfriends go, Simon was as much fun as running barefoot across a field of rusty nails.

As far as husbands go, I won the lottery with Nico.
