“Oh, she just handed you your balls.” Pike laughed. “Classic.”

Dean whipped around, slashing him with a hateful glare. “Did you fuck her, too?”

“Dean!” Jasmine objected.

The tattooed DM raised his hands, adamantly shaking his head. “No, man. I’ve never touched her. I swear.”

“Not for lack of trying,” River growled.

Beck closed his eyes and shook his head. This four-alarm blaze hardly needed more fuel.

“Keep it that way if you want to live,” Dean snarled.

“I can’t believe you told my brother everything we did in detail,” Jasmine railed at River.

“Listen to me,” he gasped. “Jasmine…”

“I heard about every whimper, moan, and”—Dean grimaced—“orgasm he dragged out of you, Miri. And he told me more than once that he wanted to cry like a baby when he squeezed his filthy dick in your—”

“Don’t say it,” River bellowed.

“Ass,” Dean finished. “Your virgin ass!”

“Stop!” Jasmine screamed. “Not another word. I hate you both right now.”

A humorless grin kicked up a corner of River’s mouth. “You might not want to hate me until we’ve established whether or not you’re pregnant, sweetheart.”

Dean blanched and pinned his sister with a look of disbelief. Then, nostrils flaring, he turned his focus back on River, his face mottled, his chest heaving. “You took my little sister bareback?”

River shrugged. “It happened so fast and—”

With a roar of pure, unadulterated rage, Dean charged River.

Pike snagged an arm around Jasmine’s waist and pulled her to safety as Dean landed a right hook on River’s jaw. His head snapped back. Both Heavenly and Raine screamed, but that didn’t stop Dean, who whaled an upper cut into River’s jaw that had his teeth snapping shut with grating force and blood dripping down his chin.

“Fuck,” Seth muttered.

“Good thing I brought my medical bag,” Beck drawled. “Both these idiots will likely need mending.”

“Stop it!” Jasmine called, struggling to break from Pike’s grasp.

He held tight. “You need to let them work it out. This is what men do. They’re just marking their territory.”

“I’m not a fire hydrant,” she spat, twisting free.

“Dude, is this how you want to settle things?” River spit blood onto the hardwoods. “Really?”

“I’d rather just shoot you,” Dean sneered. “But you’ll suffer longer under my fists.”

River snorted. “You wish.”

He was still smirking when, like a rocket, his fist launched, colliding with Dean’s nose.

Then it was on. Fists began to blur as blood sprayed through the air. Blows landed. Bones crunched. Curses echoed off the walls.

Seth shook his head. “What a fucking mess.”

Yes, and a horrific end to any chance that River and Dean would someday share their futures with a woman. They’d spent months planning, preparing, and saving for their special someone. In less than an hour, it was all down the toilet.

“We should break this up before they kill each other,” Beck muttered.

“Sadly, yes.” Jericho sighed. “My money would be on River, but if they killed each other the paperwork would be a bitch.”

“True.” Seth nodded, setting Heavenly behind them. “Stay back.”

Liam and Hammer followed, doing the same with their princess. Then, in unison, the five of them, along with Zach, stepped into the fray. Hammer and Beck pried Dean to one side of the room. Seth and Liam pulled River to the other. Zach and Jericho stood between them as sentries. River and Dean continued glaring daggers of hate, chests heaving with rage.

Arms banded around Dean, Beck ignored the blood dripping onto his shirt sleeve and glanced over his shoulder to check on Heavenly. The horror etched on her face—on Raine’s and Jasmine’s too—told him they’d never witnessed this kind of caveman violence.

Sensing his concern, Heavenly sent him an unsettled half smile.

“Easy. Calm down,” Hammer urged both men.

Pike, the demented fuck, leaned against a nearby wall and laughed hysterically.

“Shut up, asshole,” Beck snapped.

It wouldn’t be easy, but they had to defuse this situation and somehow find neutral ground.

“I wasn’t done pounding his face.” Dean tried to lurch from Beck’s grip.

“He’s not worth breaking your knuckles,” Beck growled in low tones.

“You’re right. Forget my knuckles. I’m going to kill that cocksucker in his sleep. I will stab a knife through his fucking heart and smile.”

“No, you won’t,” Beck muttered. “If you did, you’d lose your job, and you wouldn’t last a day in jail with all the criminals you put there. Even if you did, you’re too pretty to go to prison and not end up somebody’s bitch.”

“Yeah, so fuck you,” River hurled across the room.

“It’d be worth it,” Dean bit out.

“Who will protect Jasmine if you and River are both dead?” Beck asked. “Pike?”

“You’re not helping,” Dean snarled.

“Calm the fuck down and I’ll let you go.”

Dean dragged in a handful of deep breaths, then gave him a choppy nod. “I’m good.”

“Are you? Give me your word you’ll behave.”

“Don’t push me.” Dean rolled his shoulders, shrugging Beck off.

“I’m serious, fucker.”

Dean ignored him.

On the far side of the room, Seth released River, who also eyed the cop as if plotting his death. But instead of antagonizing Dean again, he turned to Jasmine. “Could you be pregnant?”
