“I didn’t hate it. If I drank another tonight…”

“No one would think anything of it.” And from everything Beck was hearing, the twins just might be perfect for showing Zach how to do life in the outside world. “Whatever makes you happy.”

Zach sighed, seeming to consider his options. “It’s that simple?”

“Pretty much.”

The opening of the apartment door, followed by a female giggle, brought Beck’s head snapping around. It wasn’t long before the twins appeared at the end of the foyer, a twelve-pack in one hand and a pair of clinging ladies by their sides who looked more like Instagram models than college students. Then again, Jack and Connor were dead ringers for their older brother, and Seth had always been popular with the ladies.

The twins stopped short when they spotted him.

“Shit. You must be Zach’s brother,” said one, setting the beer down to offer his hand. “Hi, I’m Jack.”

Beck shook the guy’s hand. “Nice to meet you. I’m—”

“Seth’s friend. Dr. Beckman, right?”

Since the twins had no idea he and their brother shared Heavenly, that was probably the safest answer. “Yeah, but just call me Beck.”

“Cool. That’s Connor.” He pointed to his twin, who waved. “This is Lacey and Katie.”

“Kaitlyn,” corrected a blonde wearing a skirt so short she should fear a stiff breeze.

“Sorry. Yeah. Um…Zach, we brought you back some grub, man. Up to trying Mexican food?”

Connor forked over a to-go container from a nearby restaurant. “It’s all yours.”

Zach stood and accepted it. “Thank you.”

“No problem. There are cold waters and sodas in the fridge.”

“Can I have a beer?”

The twins exchanged a surprised glance.

“Sure.” Jack ripped into the twelve-pack and tossed one. “Bought ’em cold.”

Zach caught it, but his stare was glued to the blonde. He swallowed hard.

“This is Kaitlyn,” the chattier twin said to Zach. “She’s Lacey’s friend. You remember Lacey from Saturday night?”

A petite brunette in an equally small micro-dress waved with one hand, now clinging to Jack’s arm with the other.

Zach nodded, still fixated on Kaitlyn.

Beck watched with interest. Apparently, one of the twins, probably Jack, had gotten busy with Lacey a couple nights back and had now brought a friend so they could both get lucky. Which made Zach the third wheel. That was going to suck, especially since he seemed attracted to her.

Jack took the beer and the food from Zach’s hands and put them into Kaitlyn’s. “Would you mind setting this up at the kitchen table for Zach?”

So he’d be out of their way while everyone else fucked in the living room? Zach would still be able to hear them. If he stood and peeked over the bar between the two rooms, he’d be able to see them, too. If his brother was still processing how he felt about premarital sex, getting an eyeful of it could put him over the edge.

“Or I could take you out for dinner, just the two of us,” Beck suggested. It was something he should have done sooner. “How about a nice steak?”

Zach watched Kaitlyn brush past Connor, who murmured something in her ear. She turned back to look at Zach—and she eye-fucked him hard.

Whoa.

“I think I’ll stay here and give this a try,” Zach muttered, never taking his eyes off the flirty blonde. “If that’s okay.”

He wasn’t talking about the Mexican food. Zach was asking Beck if it was okay to fuck this girl. If she actually followed through on that expression, why not?

Beck smiled and clapped his brother on the back. “Sure. Great. We’ll do dinner another time.”

“Awesome. Nice to meet you, man.” Jack stuck out his hand, not at all subtle about rushing him out the door.

Beck repressed a smile and shook it again. “Same.”

With that, Jack disappeared into the bathroom. When Beck looked to Connor again, he was lip-locked with Lacey, his hand slipping under her mostly backless dress to grab her pert ass. He hadn’t seen that coming. Were the twins tag-teaming her? Sharing her?

Doubtful. Liam and Hammer aside, most guys didn’t do sex the way he and Seth did with Heavenly. It was stupid to project his own life onto them. More than likely, Jack would emerge any moment and seduce Kaitlyn. Where would that leave Zach?

As if he sensed they were being watched, Connor broke away and had the good grace to look sheepish. “Thanks for stopping in. We’re taking good care of Zach. I promise.”

Beck wasn’t totally convinced, but he nodded while Connor and Lacey bumped their way to the sofa bed, barely keeping their hands off of each other.

As Beck headed into the kitchen, he almost ran into Kaitlyn. He steadied her with one hand and an apology.

She gave him a chagrined little smile. “Sorry.”

“It was my fault.” Beck glanced across the room at Zach, who had settled at the kitchen table with his beer and his food, then he dropped his voice. “Are you here to spend the night with Jack?”
