As he grinned, clearly approving of that idea, I shrugged. “I have no problem showing up when wanted or needed, but I’m really trying not to make you frustrated.”
Ruslan sucked in his lower lip as his gaze dropped to his plate, but it didn’t take long for him to peek up through his lashes. “I’m not good at asking for relationship things when I’m…when I’m fully in a grown-up headspace, but…but little me has a thing for bugging friends.”
“Like calling Jack the other night and texting his Daddy?” I laughed softly as Ruslan nodded and blushed. “Then we need to make sure I’m saved in your phone right at the top so little you can invite me over to play.”
He seemed to be doing his best not to look shy or nervous, but I liked the way he sighed and wiggled. “Well, you do bring dessert and you can come over quickly.”
“And I like coloring.” I was very handy to have around. “I could also be tasked with other things like getting you ready or more personal tasks, once I know your needs and preferences.”
I thought that was a pretty good way of talking around things like diapers and bathing, but Ruslan’s startled expression and blushing made it hard to be certain.
Since giving him an out seemed like a good idea, I shifted the subject slightly. “I can also be texted for things like making mac-n-cheese and having a kneeling emergency.”
He blinked a few times, clearly not sure if he should poke at the teasing comment or not. But it seemed like curiosity won out because he leaned forward and frowned. “A kneeling emergency?”
Nodding like it was perfectly reasonable, I leaned back in my chair. “Of course, sometimes there’s just that urge and you need a Dom to come help. Like sometimes a Dom gets an urge to make a sub squirm and it’s good to have a special friend he can call to work out those needs with.”
And the blush was back.
“You’re terrible.” Ruslan rolled his eyes and was trying to play it off but I could see his mind whirling.
Was he wondering if I’d call?
Was he wondering what I’d do if he called?
I’d have given him an honest response if he’d asked, but this was Ruslan, so he didn’t. “Well, it’s good to know that you don’t mind if little me decides to be an attention whore.”
Laughing, I shook my head. “I will never mind, but we might have to work out a schedule to keep things like work and classes in mind.”
“Yes.” Ruslan looked more at ease with something neutral to talk about and quickly latched onto it. “I don’t think I’ve ever heard you talk about work. What’s your schedule like?”
Yes, that was much easier to talk about than a little attention whore’s needs or asking how to get his submissive desires met without having to actually ask for it.
But luckily for him, his new Daddy had a stubborn streak and didn’t mind inviting being annoyingly persistent on a regular basis.
Chapter 7
Ruslan
“Don’t worry. I’m inviting myself in to continue our date, so there’s nothing you have to obsess over.” Dante gave me a cheeky grin and a wink as he turned off his car and climbed out. “If you’re a good boy and wait for me to get your door, I’ll say you’ve earned your kiss.”
Ugh.
He was trying to kill me.
I’d blushed so many times over dinner it had to be unhealthy.
I wanted to say something witty, but as he came around the front of the car looking pleased with himself and sexy, my brain shut down. It was definitely his fault for bringing up that kiss promise. How was I supposed to pick where to get my kiss?
I should’ve let him talk about limits over dinner and stopped changing the subject.
No, he shouldn’t have let me change the subject.
Yes, this was still his fault.
I kept that thought firmly at the front of my mind as he opened the door and I kept a tight grip on my frustration.
“You look like you’re plotting a revolution.” He didn’t seem to mind that because he reached in and kissed my cheek as he released the seat belt. “What is on your mind?”
I frowned, not pouted, as he helped me out of the car. “I can’t pick my kiss because you didn’t tell me your limits.”
Yes, this was definitely his fault.
His lips twitched but he nodded slowly.
It was honestly worrying.
This might’ve been a strategic error.
Oh dear.
“Then we’re going to have to fix that right now.” He looked entirely too relaxed and confident as he shut the door and led me up the stairs. He even smiled as I unlocked the door. “I know just how we’re going to do that.”
Ugh.
Somehow this was my fault.
I wasn’t sure what to say, though, so I decided silence would be smarter as he locked the front door for me and led me right to the living room. He did it so confidently, it took me a minute to remember it was my house.
