But I declined because it’s not what I want. In fact, after I finished my degree, instead of returning to Pictogram as an engineer, I decided to get a new job. I didn’t want people to accuse Theo of nepotism, and to be honest, I didn’t want to work for my husband either (in part because we’d be having sex non-stop in his office). It was better to have my own sphere of influence, and so I applied to and was hired by a new tech start-up called NYC Concierge. It’s great, but I think something’s going on with the boss. He’s one of those CEOs who likes to get his hands dirty on occasion, which means that sometimes he does the deliveries himself. That’s right, Tucker gets onto a moped and literally zips around NYC, delivering groceries, household items, and everything else under the sun.
But something’s fishy because the last couple times the CEO was out, he came back with rumpled clothes. His black hair was askew, and not only that, but he had the totally satisfied air of an alpha male who’s just fucked his woman thoroughly. Could it be true? Is our boss actually having sex with one of the ladies on his route? It hardly seems possible, but then again, I caught him with a splotch of semen on his jeans once, and he didn’t bother to deny it.
“Um, do you want to get changed?” I asked, staring at the wet spot at his crotch. “I’m sure that’s coffee that you spilled, right?”
Theo merely shrugged, running a hand through his black hair.
“Trust me, she’s got even more wet spots on her. She was coated and gooey by the time we were done.”
I gawked at the handsome man as he strolled off, but there you have it: confirmation that our CEO is a dirty bastard who’s literally fucking one of the customers on his route. That’s exceptional service for you, I suppose.
But my life is going swimmingly. I love my new job, and Jill and I are still BFFs. Plus, she and Roger got engaged! My buddy was right. He is a decent guy if you get to know him. Roger apologized profusely for being a brogrammer douchebag, and swore to mend his ways. I’m proud because my friend’s been a great influence on him.
But poor Penny is now living full-time at a mental institution. She really lost it and couldn't accept that Theo didn't want to be with her. In fact, at her institution, she was living in a fantasy that Theo, a stuffed bear, was her husband and they lived in a gigantic mansion. Because of her unstable psyche, we decided not to press charges against her. She had enough to deal with and wouldn't be released anytime soon.
Meanwhile, my gorgeous husband and I have never been happier. We adore one another, and he never hesitates to tell me how beautiful I am, and how much he appreciates our family. See? I got to get the guy as well as a career, which means that dreams really do come true.
