“If you walk out now, I might not send security to hinder your escape,” she says, tipping her head as if to try and spot where the chain hanging at my left side leads.
“They couldn’t stop me from gettin’ in. What makes you think they could stop me from gettin’ out?”
Green eyes meet mine. “How did you get in?”
My smirk is slow, and she glares.
“I will find out.” She quickly adds, “Security might be a little lax tonight for the event, but all I have to do is pull up the surveillance videos.”
I don’t know what event she’s talking about or why any kind of security would ease up instead of double down for an open event, but I don’t say that.
I nod, taking slow strides toward her, and curiosity flicks across her face.
“Maybe, but then them men you got running around looking like a gang of Ask Jeeves would ask questions and I’m bettin’ you don’t wanna shed no light for them.” I’m right in front of her now.
Her chin lifts defiantly, the slenderness of her throat causing my fingers to twitch. “You don’t know me, fuckboy.”
“Nah.” I look from her long legs to the lacy cuffs circling her thick, toned thighs and the small clasps latched to the tips, connecting the thin material to her G-string. “But you’re quick to call me as you see me … and now I’m feelin’ some type of way.”
Interest sparks within her, the slight shift of her legs, that internal need for friction between them giving her away as she speaks. “And what, dare I ask, is it you’re feeling?”
“The need to live up to it.” My eyes slice to hers, just in time to witness yet another accidental reaction.
But for real, how shocked can she be?
Where I come from, a five-star meal is as rare as the car she was cruisin’ in tonight. When you find it in front of you, you sure as fuck don’t pass it off to the next asshole when you know it’s within reach. Even she should recognize this much.
“You’re insane.” She shakes her head.
“Yeah.” I nod mine, reaching forward to flatten my palms on either side of her as I creep in closer. “Are you?”
Slowly, her frown deepens, and she straightens up, her chest pressing into mine. I allow her to force me back a bit, but she says nothing, so I push a little more.
“Got to say,” I keep on. “My radar for crazy is blaring, Barbie girl, and it’s pointing back at you.”
She hops down with a loud clink, her heels bringing her eye level with me. “I don’t even know you.”
“It’s not like you’ll see me again after tonight, so what’s it matter?”
“You speak as if you’ll make it out of here alive.”
“Tell you what.” I let my arms fall to my sides. “I make it out tonight. I’ll consider coming back.”
A rich, throaty chuckle works its way up her throat. “And why would I want that?”
“I don’t know …” Gripping the folds of my leather jacket, I peel it off one sleeve at a time, tossing it to the side. My shirt’s next and her attention instantly snaps from the ink on my forearms to the ink on my chest. Reaching out, I skate my knuckles along her bicep, covered in her long-sleeve white top. Still, she shivers. “Why would you?”
Her gaze pops up to mine, and I can see her wheels turning, a voice at the forefront of her mind telling her to back away. To end this. To do what she knows she should, be the good girl she spoke of but isn’t. She knows she should send me out the door, yet she hesitates … but only for a quick fucking second before those green eyes sharpen with resolution.
And then she’s on me, leaping with zero effort, those long legs locking along my belt at my back. She hauls herself forward, arching her back so her chest is resting just above my pecs, her lips begging to be bitten. She rolls her hips slightly and my chest rumbles in approval.
As if she’s been waiting for the opportunity, her tongue comes out, flicking across my lip ring and my mouth opens instantly, but she’s quick, denying my bite and causing my teeth to snap together on a harsh clink.
“In case you missed it,” she shares, her voice thicker than before as reckless need swells within her. “I pressed the silent alarm.”
I glare, and she smirks, saying, “You’ve got five minutes.”
Bumping her ass with my knee, I toss her up a few more inches, catching her with a tight grip on the underside of her thighs. “I only need three.”
“That’s pathetic.”
“Nah.” I whip us around, going toward the chaise in front of the window. I lower to my knees, perching her ass on the edge of the fancy material I couldn’t name if I tried. “That’s skill. Now shut that pretty mouth unless you want me to fill it and put those heels on my shoulders.”
