“I’m the Papa, I don’t have to.”
“Papa!” she cried. “TNT.”
“TNT? Like the dynamite?” he asked.
“TNT. That’s Not True.”
“Really? I thought I got to make the rules.”
“Papa.”
“Bunny. Say please.”
“Please, Papa, will you give me another angel kiss?”
“Good girl.” He leaned in and she closed her eyes again as he gave her an angel kiss.
Her insides melted and any tension in her body started to disappear.
“Such a beautiful girl. My girl.”
She squirmed on his lap until his lips met hers.
Ahh, she hadn’t even realized that was what she’d been waiting for. His lips were soft against hers to begin with, then he placed a hand on the back of her head, holding her still as his tongue slid between her lips to play with hers.
He deepened the kiss and she was totally here for it. A throat cleared and she stiffened, but he took his time finishing the kiss. A blanket settled around her back, and it was almost too much warmth given how she was pressed to Alexei’s chest.
He was warm enough to melt an iceberg.
He drew back and kissed her forehead before turning her around on his lap.
Both Salem and Roman were back. Roman was frowning as he checked something on his phone while Salem laid out the picnic.
“Everything okay, Rome?” she asked worriedly.
“I’m just trying to work out if we are meeting your nutritional needs. Not that there is anything wrong with the way you look,” he said hastily, no doubt remembering their earlier conversation about this. “You’re just a bit pale.”
“Am I?” she asked Alexei.
“Um, are you gonna get mad at me if I agree? Because you are rather close to my family jewels and I like my spaghetti and meatballs right where they are.”
“Bloody hell,” Salem said. “Is it possible to have one meal where you don’t talk about a body part?”
“Probably not,” Alexei replied.
“I really don’t think you need to worry that much about what I eat,” she said. “Rome?”
He looked up, blinking. “But I don’t want you to get sick.”
“I never get sick. I’m fine. Can we just eat?” She didn’t want him to get focused on her diet.
He frowned. “Well, all right.”
Salem shifted closer and held some breadstick to her mouth. She blushed and tried to reach for it but then realized that she had gloves on. But when she tried to take them off, Roman reached over and grabbed her hands.
“Don’t take those off,” Roman bossed. “You’ll get cold hands.”
“Salem isn’t wearing gloves,” she protested.
“That’s Daddy to you, Bunny,” Alexei told her, his breath warm against her ear.
Whoa.
Why was that sexy? Seemed her ear was rather sensitive. Before she could get him to do it again, Roman reached over and tugged her hat more firmly over her ear.
Bummer.
“Daddy isn’t wearing any gloves,” she said.
“Daddy isn’t you,” Alexei told her. “He can choose whether he wears gloves or not.”
“And I can’t?”
“That’s right,” Alexei replied. “You can’t.”
“Well, that doesn’t seem fair.”
“Eat,” Salem said firmly. “You must be hungry, you haven’t eaten since lunch.”
Hmm. Probably not a good idea to tell him how she could go days without eating. A few hours was hardly even noticeable.
She leaned forward and took a bite of the breadstick.
Yum.
The others started to eat. Apparently, they were all allowed to be out here without gloves.
Alexei leaned around her and grasped a bowl of soup that Salem poured out. He handed it to Roman. “You’ll have to feed her.”
“Me?” Roman appeared startled.
“I can’t feed her while she’s on my lap and Salem is eating.”
Salem nodded, taking another spoonful into his mouth.
“Uh, sure. I can do that.” Roman took the bowl of soup from Alexei.
She leaned forward and probably would have fallen if Alexei hadn’t wrapped a thick arm around her.
“You don’t have to if you don’t want to,” she told Roman.
“I can do this,” he said in a determined voice.
She had no doubt of that. She shifted around on Alexei’s lap. Salem glanced over at her as Roman stirred the soup intently. As though it was his job. As though he was going to be graded badly if he didn’t stir it properly.
“Do you need to go potty, Malyshka?” Alexei asked casually.
As though it was a question he asked people all the time.
Hmm. She paused to think about that. Did she need to go?
A bit.
But she could hold on.
“Nope, I’m good, Papa.”
“You’re certain?” Salem asked. “Because you’re moving around like you do.”
“I must have ants in my pants.”
Alexei snorted. “Or is it that someone’s bottom is sore from getting a spanking today?”
She gasped. Loud and dramatic. Because why gasp unless it was going to be loud and dramatic?
Roman spooned up some soup and took a sip. Huh, maybe he’d decided to feed himself the soup instead. Made sense.
“You told them about the spanking, Daddy?”
“I did,” Salem replied calmly.
“But that was private information.”
“No, it wasn’t,” Salem replied.
