She didn’t look away, not as he worked his cock. Watching him come was so arousing.
****
The following morning, Blaze woke up and immediately slammed his palm on the bed.
He’d always been a deep sleeper. It was why he didn’t have to sleep for very long, because once he did, he was out like a fucking light. Fay wasn’t like him. She’d always been a light sleeper.
She was gone again.
After climbing out of bed, he went to his small closet and pulled out a pair of jeans and a shirt. It was already hot as fuck, which reminded him he needed to fix the air conditioning. Grabbing his cell phone from the table, he paused. His clothes from last night had been neatly folded, and his cell phone placed with his car keys.
He smiled.
Even leaving, she couldn’t resist cleaning up. Fucking adorable.
If he had to, he was going to start chaining her to the bed.
He grabbed his keys and found Blair’s number, pressing the green button to start calling.
“Hello,” Blair said.
“Where’s Fay?”
“You know, conversation is nice if people greet each other, and the usual small talk, and all that.”
“I don’t have time. Where’s Fay?”
“Looking for another job. She lost another. I’m worried about her, Blaze. What do you think we should do?”
“You should focus on your studies and getting good at that salon. I’ll deal with Fay.”
His sister grumbled. “Why are you suddenly so interested in Fay?”
“None of your business.”
“You know, you think I’m stupid, but I have eyes.”
Blaze paused after he got in the car. “I know you have eyes. What about them?”
“I can see the way you look at her. The way you have always looked at her.” Blair sighed. “If you’re going to start screwing my friend, I need to know.”
“Why?”
“So I know how to deal. So I know that I need to stop setting her up on dates, and so I can beat the crap out of you.”
“Then you’re going to need to schedule in beating the crap out of me.”
“Okay. Wait? What? Huh?”
Blaze laughed. His sister was sweet. It did, however, take her a couple of minutes to process stuff.
“Fay is mine.”
“Damn it, Blaze. You’re going to terrify her.”
“No, I’m not.”
“Please, you think I don’t know what you’re like? You’re all in, all the time. I bet you’ve known you were going to make Fay yours for a long time now.”
“Not going to deny it.”
Blair screamed. “Oh, you asshole. I am going to beat the crap out of you. Fay is sweet and kind. She doesn’t need your kind of … I don’t even know what it is you feel for her.”
“She’s mine.”
“Fay is not an object, Blaze.”
“Never said she was. It’s simple. I want Fay. She’s mine. Back the fuck off and tell me how to deal with her sneaking the fuck out every bastard morning.”
This time, Blair did chuckle. “Can’t keep her down.”
“It’s not funny, Blair. Where is she?” He was starting to lose his temper.
“Wow, seriously? You’re going to play the pissed-off party to me? You do know she’s my best friend, and I seem to recall telling you to stay away from her.”
“And I did stay away from her.”
“She’s still my best friend, Blaze.”
“I know that, but you also know I’m the best one out there for her.”
Blair snorted. “Please, there is always someone better out there for her than you. Fuck, that sounded bitchy. It’s just, you’re you, and we all know what that means.”
Blaze glared at no one, but he knew what his sister was trying to say. Blaze had never been forthcoming with his emotions. Not for his sister, not for anyone. What Blair didn’t know was none of the people he’d encountered were Fay. When it came to her, he’d always struggled to keep his feelings in check.
She … inspired him.
Drove him.
“She’s mine, Blair, so you can stop hunting for one of your fucking boyfriends for her. I will break any bastard’s neck who even dares to come near her. Got it?”
“For fuck’s sake, Blaze, don’t you think you’re coming on a little heavy?”
“Tell me where she is.”
She growled over the phone but let him know where she was. He should have known. Fay loved the coffee at that particular spot. It was a coffee place, and the name was exactly that: Coffee Place.
After hanging up, he tossed his cell phone to the seat opposite him, turned over his ignition, and pressed his foot to the floor. If his sister had any sense about her, she wouldn’t alert Fay that he was going to her.
It didn’t take him very long to get to Fay. The biggest problem was parking, but he slid into a slot as soon as a woman pulled out of hers. His cell phone had been buzzing for the past ten minutes, so he hoped Blair had wasted her time trying to get in touch with him rather than call her best friend.
