“Oh, downstairs. I figure I’d do some shopping at the boutiques.”
She nods, her dark hair pulled back in a smooth bun.
“Of course. Please, enjoy yourself.”
I nod and head for the elevator before stepping into the golden box for the trip three levels down to a part of the compound that they’ve converted into a selection of high-end boutiques. This is one of the best parts of being a hostess. Sanctum is a city within a city, and within this behemoth of a building, I know there’s a bowling alley, a movie theater, an in-ground pool, not to mention spa services and a hair salon. It’s a certain type of paradise, in and of itself.
But today, Todd asked me to meet him in the boutique shopping area, and when I get off the elevator, I spy my man immediately. He’s huge and gorgeous with that muscular physique clad in an expensive suit. Goodness, I can’t wait to get it off of him.
I skip over and press a kiss to his cheek.
“Hi Mr. Sales,” I greet breathily. “How are you today?”
Those steel blue eyes rove over my curvy form, taking in the barely there top and even more scandalous skirt.
“Better now that you’re here, sweetheart. You look gorgeous, as always.”
I blush. “This old thing? It’s just something from my closet.”
He nods, still unable to tear his eyes from my huge breasts.
“I like it. Green looks good on you because it brings out the little flecks in your eyes and turns them aquamarine.”
I giggle.
“Thank you! I had no idea you were so poetic, Mr. Sales.”
He grins devilishly before taking my hand.
“You have no idea, honey. I’m a very visual man, and I’m all about colors. But now, should we look around a bit?”
Without waiting for an answer, the handsome man takes my hand and walks me around a tinkling fountain and towards an elegant jewelry store. The walls are made of heavy glass with clever window displays showing off an assortment of glittering watches, bracelets and rings.
I sigh, entranced by the beauty of the gems.
“Goodness, I’ve walked by this place a hundred times, but never gone in. Beautiful, isn’t it?”
Todd merely chuckles, patting my hand which is tucked into his elbow.
“You’re the one who’s beautiful, sweetness. Plus, it’s a good thing you’re with me because I want to treat you.”
I stop in my tracks. “Oh no, because it’s way too expensive. I can’t accept.”
The handsome man merely shrugs.
“No, I want to sweetheart. I’m not trying to brag, but money isn’t really an issue for me, and I can think of no better way to spend it than on you.”
I bite my lip, casting a sideways glance at the jewels. “Still, it’s a lot,” I whisper.
My man merely presses a tender kiss to my lips.
“Then let’s just look, okay? No pressure. If you’re absolutely against it or if there’s nothing you like, then we’ll leave empty handed. No harm, no foul.”
What girl could say no? With a slight nod, I follow him into the jewelry store where he’s greeted rhapsodically by the salesman on the floor.
“Mr. Sales!” the balding man sings. “What a treat to see you again! Welcome.”
“Hi Benny, we’re here to find something for my friend Bridget here,” Todd growls. “Benny, this is Bridget. Bridget, Benny.”
Of course, I deduce right away that Todd’s been in this boutique before, and is likely a big spender given the way the salesman is fawning over my date. But as I look around, my heart starts pattering because there aren’t even price tags on each jewelry item. It seems that you’re either rich enough to buy without knowing the price, or you leave because this isn’t the store for you. Goodness.
I wander from display to display, growing more and more dazzled, but there’s no way I can accept anything, much less pick something out. This is too much for a girl who’s more used to glass baubles and costume jewelry. But my man senses my hesitation and pulls me towards a stainless-steel display case.
“This is exactly what I’m looking for,” Todd growls. “Belly chains for my sexy girl.”
At first, I giggle.
“Isn’t that what gypsies wear? Or the Queen of Egypt?”
His blue eyes flash.
“You’d look gorgeous in one, Bridge. I can see a gold chain with a diamond that drops right in front of your pussy, and of course, you’d be wearing nothing else.”
“Todd!” I gasp, looking around, but Benny’s off to the side puttering about doing who knows what. Fortunately, my man knows what he’s doing and within seconds, he’s alighted on an item that fits his description. The gold chain is a thin filigree, delicate and beautiful, and sure enough there’s an enormous diamond in the front that would dangle right where he wants.
“Oh my goodness,” I gasp.
My man smirks.
“I think this one, right? I’ll look beautiful draped around your narrow waist, baby. What do you say? Try it on?”
