I think I like Thorsen’s version of events the best, and it never fails to make the boys gasp during all the same parts even though they’ve heard it countless times. I’d be lying if I said my pulse wasn’t racing, too, every time he confessed the depth of his love for me this way.
When the boys fall asleep, Thorsen reaches out and presses his palm against my heart. “I feel you, min gudinne.”
I kiss him, thanking the gods that I was indestructible to his thunder as my fingers crawl to his beating heart. “I feel you too, my King. Forever.”
