“That might be true, but like I said, my momma raised me right. And I could say the same for you. No love. Just sex.”

“Oh, so your momma taught you about seduction?” I wrap my arms around his neck, which brings him even closer.

“She taught me respect. I may want to fuck you, Scarlett, but I also respect you.”

“You don’t know me.”

“I know that you’re beautiful. I know that you have a passion for photography. I know that you lost your parents and that you’re floating from state to state, from city to city. I know that you have a wild streak inside you that doesn’t want to be tamed.”

Damn. Okay, so he listens well. “And you have no plan to try and tame me?”

“I don’t want to tame you.” He leans in and trails kisses from my collarbone to my ear. “You still want this? You still want me?” His voice is deep and gravelly, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard a voice sexier than his.

“Yes.”

“At any time, if you change your mind, you tell me, and we stop.”

“I’m not going to want you to stop.” To prove to him that this is the case, I tilt my head to the side, giving him better access to nip at my throat.

“Wrap your legs around my waist, Firecracker.”

I don’t hesitate to do as he asks. I wrap my legs around his waist, locking at the ankles. “Now what are you going to do with me?” I tease. There’s a glint of mischief and an abundance of need in his gaze.

“Ruin you for other men.” He growls the words as he lifts me from the island, and we’re moving. I hold on tight, burying my face in his neck and placing soft kisses against his skin. He grips my ass tighter, and his steps quicken as we make our way down a dark hallway. His boot thuds against the door as he kicks it open, and then I’m being gently tossed onto the bed, which makes me laugh.

The room is flooded with low lighting from the bedside lamp as Archer starts to unbutton his dress shirt.

“Oh, is this when the gun show starts?” I sit up on the bed and cross my legs as if I’m getting ready for a movie marathon.

Archer chuckles. “This is where you strip for me.”

“And miss the show? Nah, I think I’m good here.”

He moves in, placing his hands on the bed, his mouth barely a breath from mine. “What do I need to do to motivate you?” He kisses the corner of my mouth.

“That helps,” I murmur.

“You want me to kiss you?” His lips slowly trail across my cheek. “Is that what you want? My lips pressed to yours?”

His voice is so damn sexy it sends shivers of desire racing down my spine. “Yes. That. I’ll take that.”

The words are barely out of my mouth before his lips are on mine. It’s a soft press, a gentle swipe of his tongue, but it’s still sexy and intoxicating. I open for him, wanting more, needing more, but he pulls away.

“I need you naked, Scarlett. There are so many ways I need to kiss you. So many ways to trail your skin with my tongue.” He demonstrates this by licking a small path up my neck. “So many places that I need to taste you.” He nips at my ear.

“But I’ll miss the show.”

He stands to his full height and tugs at his shirt. Buttons fly across the room as he pulls the sleeves off his arms and lets the fabric fall to the floor. His heated stare burns into me. “Your turn.”

I swallow hard because, damn. This man in a button-down dress shirt is off-the-charts sexy. Seeing this man shirtless is a life-altering experience. Seriously, I’ve never seen a man more chiseled, more defined. At least not in person. He needs to be in magazines. My hands itch to run to the kitchen to grab my camera.

He cradles my jaw in his large, strong hands. “What’s going through that head of yours?”

“I want to take your picture.” My voice is thick, but I manage to get the words out.

“Right now?”

I shake my head. “But I want to. Will you let me?”

“I’m pretty sure there’s not much I would say no to where you’re concerned.”

“You just met me.”

“Yeah,” he agrees but doesn’t say more.

“I just—” I lift my hands and place both palms flat on his chest. I don’t finish my thought because the feel of his hot, smooth skin beneath my fingertips has me losing all train of thought.

“You just what?”

“I see things differently. My world is through a lens.”

“You can take my picture anytime you want. However, they’re only for you. No one else.”

“Really?” Even I can hear the excitement in my voice.

“Like I said, I can’t say no to you.”
