“Yeah, Firecracker?” he asks, kissing down my neck.

“It’s time for us to go home.”

His hands land on my hips, and he squeezes gently. “It will just be us at home.”

My heart thuds against my chest, just as it always does when it sounds as if he’s referring to his house as our home. “I’m not much into having an audience.”

“But you’ll have me?” He slides his hand around my waist and pushes the evidence of his hard cock into my ass.

“Yeah, Popeye. I’ll have you.”

“We’re heading out,” Archer calls out to his family.

“You need some pointers before you go?” Maverick teases.

“Fuck off,” Archer says with zero heat in his tone.

I turn to look at Alyssa and Sterling. “Thank you for having us.”

“Thank you for coming. Oh, your container.” Alyssa starts to stand, but I wave her off. “I’ll get it some other time.” I then turn toward Crosby. “Good luck, Momma. Let us know if there is anything we can do when the little one gets here.”

“Tonight,” Rushton announces, “the baby is supposed to be here tonight.”

“These things take time,” Crosby says, resting her hands on her baby bump.

“We’ve waited forever. I want to know what we’re having and meet them. The next one we’re finding out. I can’t handle this waiting business.”

“There are very few true surprises in life, Rush.” Crosby laughs.

“The surprise is that you love me enough to have a baby with me. The rest is just us.” He kisses her sweetly, and I feel a warmness in my chest, watching the love that they share.

“Let us know,” I tell them.

We continue making our rounds saying goodbye, and I gather my camera bag before I lead us out to Archer’s truck. Once he’s in, I shut the door and climb into the driver’s side. I start the truck, then adjust the mirrors and the seat to suit me.

“Damn,” Archer mutters.

I look over to find him staring at me. “What?”

“I didn’t know seeing you drive my truck would turn me on this much.” He grips his hard length through his jeans.

“I don’t think it’s me driving the truck.”

“It’s you, baby. Trust me on that. You going to ride me when we get home?” he asks.

“Is that what you want?” I ignore the heat that pools between my thighs and inwardly curse at another pair of ruined panties courtesy of this man.

“Hell, yes, that’s what I want.”

“Okay. Well, I better get us to your place.”

“Home, Scar. Take us home.” He reaches over and rests his hand on my thigh.

My hands grip the wheel so tightly my knuckles are white. It has nothing to do with driving this beast of a truck and everything to do with the man who owns it. There have been so many moments in the past few months that I’ve shared with him that make my heart ache. This man, and his kind, sexy demeanor has found a permanent spot for himself inside my hardened heart. I don’t know how he did it, but he lives there rent-free.

I didn’t expect Archer Kincaid, but I will forever be a better person for knowing this incredible man.

Once we’re in the house, Archer plops down on the couch and pats his lap. “Come sit with me.”

“Why don’t we get you in bed?” I suggest. If he passes out down here, no way can I get him to the bedroom. He doesn’t seem the type to pass out drunk, but once you sit and stop moving, it can sneak up on you.

“Because I want to snuggle.” There is no further mention of what he asked about in the truck, so I keep my mouth shut and take a seat on his lap. He wraps his strong arms around me, and I sink into his embrace.

“I like this,” he says, playing with the straps of my corset.

“I thought you might. I almost didn’t buy it. Palmer talked me into it.”

“Remind me to thank her.”

“I’m pretty sure Brooks is taking care of that for you.”

He chuckles. “Are you hungry or thirsty?”

“No. I’m good.” The silence stretches between us. He doesn’t stop touching me. His fingers feel feather light as they trace across my skin.

“You ready for bed?” he asks several minutes later, as his hand leisurely strokes up and down my back.

“I am if you are.” I don’t move. I’m too comfortable.

“With you, baby, I’m always ready.” He taps my thigh, and I stand, offering him my hand. He takes it and automatically entwines his fingers with mine. Hand in hand, we turn out the lights and make our way down the hall to his bedroom. Archer leads us to his side of the bed and switches on the lamp.

“You ready to ride me, beautiful Scarlett?” he asks, cradling my face in the palm of his hand.

“Are you still”—I glance down at his crotch—“up for it?”
