He looks at me knowingly and I fight the blush on my cheeks. He sets a water down in front of me.
I take a swig and look up at Keeper.
He’s looking behind me and the look on his face is filled with longing and dare I say it, love.
I look over my shoulder and right then Lilly lifts her eyes to Keeper and a pretty blush crosses her cheeks. I gasp and whip back around.
“It’s her. She’s the one that got away,” I say to him excitedly.
He silences me with a painful look. “Don’t, Harper. It’s not like that. Just let it be.”
“But, Keeper, I don’t understand,” I insist.
“Let it go,” he says in a husky voice.
I have so many questions, but I don’t ask him. I can see he’s hurting and I don’t want to make it worse. I nod my head at him. “Okay. I’m here if you want to talk.”
He smirks. “I’m a badass biker, Harper. I don’t talk about my feelings.”
I just shake my head at him because he may be a badass, but he’s a “good” badass.
I jump as arms go around my neck. Smoky kisses my neck. “You ready to go home, honey?”
I nod my head, because truly I am excited to go home and tell him that he’s going to be a daddy.
I’m not even worried about it. He’s made it known since the day after I met him that he wants us to have a baby.
I swing the chair around and loop my arms around his neck, then kiss his lips. “I’m ready, baby.”
