Core knew he spoke true.

About all of it.

“She’s heading this way, Core, and the woman is skipping.”

Instantly, Core turned his head so he could watch that.

Hellen wasn’t exactly skipping. She led with only her left foot, so it was more like galloping.

It was still cute as all fuck, which meant when she got to him, he’d turned on his stool to face her, and he was grinning.

She collapsed between his spread legs, pressed to his crotch and abs, her hands flat on his chest, her head tipped back.

Christ, she was something.

And she loved him.

Said it straight.

I love you too.

He curled an arm around her.

“So, according to Choppy, I need a club name,” she declared.

She then raised her brows like he could lay one on her right then.

“Foxy,” Muzzle decreed.

She turned her head in Muzz’s direction and shouted, “Ohmigod! I love that.”

Shit, she was drunk.

And Core loved that because it meant she was having a good time, not to mention it was going to make things even more fun when they got home.

She arched into him, pressing against his dick like his last thought was a promise she was giving, as she called, “Muzzle just named me Foxy!”

“Ohmigod!” Marcy yelled. “I love that!”

“Second that emotion,” Choppy shouted.

“Yee ha!” Peanut hollered.

Hellen came back to him. “I think that’s going to stick.”

“Reckon it is, baby,” he murmured, smiling down at her.

“I suck at pool,” she announced.

“Noticed that.”

She pressed into him again, lifting up on her toes, and stage-whispered, “I think they like me.”

He heard Muzzle chuckle.

“Told you,” he replied.

She rolled her eyes.

Core wondered how long they had to stay.

He needed her home.

He needed to be inside her.

And he needed to figure out the words to use when he gave it to her, past sins and all.

On the whole, in bed (or in the shower, or on the couch, or against the kitchen counter), they tended to get nasty.

Core liked to fuck, obviously.

Hellen liked to get fucked, down and dirty.

She let loose and she gave over.

She was her own woman in the world.

She let him own her in bed.

That night, though, even if she was slightly inebriated, he didn’t go there.

Missionary, her legs wrapped around his ass, her eyes holding his through the dark, their fingers laced, he moved inside her, slow and easy, and watched her take it, watched her feel it.

Watched her understand what he was saying.

He knew when it was building, because he started going faster. She lifted her hips to meet his thrusts, her heels digging in to pull her up, her fingers tightening in his, stretching the webbing to the point it stung, her other arm sliding around him and holding close.

“Love you,” he rumbled.

“Love you too,” she whispered.

He smiled down at her beautiful face, feeling her pussy grip him tightly, like she wanted him inside always and didn’t want to let go.

Anytime he was inside her, he wanted that too.

It was the way of nature when it was right.

And for them, it was right.

So it started happening, and he had no choice but to go at her faster, harder. She took it, met it, coaxed it.

And then she gave it.

Once she did, he gave his too.

When it was done, he rolled so she was on top.

She kissed his skin, nuzzled him, she did this awhile before she settled, her cheek to his collarbone.

Core loved every touch.

At the same time it scared the shit out of him, because he knew he could lose it.

“Okay, that answers that question. Sex is more profound when you love the person inside you, and you know they love you too,” she whispered against his skin.

Core arched his neck, shut his eyes tight, and felt his chest seize.

Fuck, he had to tell her.

He didn’t tell her.

He righted himself and shared, “Gonna be late a couple of times this week.”

She lifted to look down at him and didn’t ask questions, didn’t demand answers, didn’t give him even a modicum of shit, because she loved him and took him as he was.

She just didn’t know all he was.

“You want me to stay at mine?” she asked.

“No. Unless you want me to go there when I’m done.”

Her lips curled up. “I’ll text where I’m at and you can go wherever.”

“Right.”

She kissed him, pulled away and said, “Gonna clean up.”

“’Kay, baby,” he murmured. “Be fast. Want you right back.”

“I will,” she promised, kissed him again and slid off him.

He watched through the shadows as she walked to the bathroom. He also watched as Nanook got up from lying beside the bed so he could follow her.

He needed to tell her.

And he would.

Soon.

It was overkill and corny as fuck, but since it seemed to work, when the dude showed in his kitchen and switched on the light, Core was leaning in the doorway that led to the man’s living room, making a play of cleaning his fingernails with the tip of his knife.
