But my eyes are drawn to Penelope, clutching a glass as her face contorts with anger. Disgust.

She jumps up off the round couch and storms off through the exclusive room’s exit with one of the girls following suit.

And fuck me, that’ll do it.

I pull away from Farah and leave her on the dance floor. Felix follows quickly. “Hold up … you’re just gonna leave me here?” the girl asks.

“Yup,” I reply.

“But we were dancing,” Farah says.

“And now I’m done,” I say as I make my way back to our side of the room.

“What about you?” Farah asks Felix.

But he flips her off.

The girl stomps off, but I don’t fucking care. She was just a game to me, just as everything else in this life. But that game got ruined the second I saw Penelope sitting there with her arms folded, her face looking like she could almost eat mine.

Fuck.

Nothing ever gets to me, so why would it now?

“Well, that went well,” Felix says when we return to our couch.

“I won. That’s all,” I reply.

Alistair places his glass down and stands up. “But at what cost?”

I approach him and grab his face with one hand. “You know I’ll always return.” And I kiss him hard, just as I always do after I finish with my toys. He bites my lip, but I suck on the blood and kiss him even harder.

“I hate how jealous you make me,” he growls.

“And I love seeing you jealous,” I retort. “Now shut up, and fucking kiss me.”

Penelope

I head straight for the first bathroom I find in this posh place, and it’s filled to the brim with people. The music is way too loud, and I need a break from all that noise.

Even the bathrooms here look expensive as fuck with purple-and-gold wallpaper, several gold-lined paintings of half-naked ladies, and floors made of thick marble slabs.

I lock myself in a stall and sit on the toilet, breathing in and out to calm myself.

But the longer I’m here, the more I’m convinced it isn’t just the loud music and the dancing people who’ve got me overstimulated.

Because all I can think about is that image floating through my head of Dylan and Felix dancing with that girl.

I shake my head, grumbling with frustration at myself.

Fuck that. It shouldn’t bother me this much. We made a deal, nothing more, nothing less. My body for their help. It doesn’t mean anything. They don’t mean anything to me, and I don’t mean anything to them.

“Penelope?”

Lana’s voice makes me look up as my fingers dug into my skin so badly it started to bleed.

“Are you in here?” she asks.

“Yeah,” I reply.

She softly knocks on the door. “You okay in there?”

“I’m fine.”

Don’t let them get to you. That’s why they did it.

I take another big breath and open the door again, walking out with my head held high. “I just needed a break from all the noise.”

I mean, it’s sort of true.

I grab the lipstick from my small bag and redo my lips in the big mirror in front of the stalls.

Lana stands beside me and rakes her fingers through her long black hair, then adjusts her little red dress and readjusts the red ribbon in her hair. “You’ve got more balls than I do.”

I frown as I apply a second layer of lipstick. “What do you mean?”

“If I saw my boyfriend dancing with some other girl, I’d probably knock them out.” She snorts.

“Boyfriend?” I mutter. “Oh no, Felix and Dylan aren’t—”

“Stop lying,” Lana interjects. “I know what you are to them. It’s what they do.” She chews on her gum. “They’ve been doing it for a while now. Even in front of your sister. Everything’s a game to them.”

“What?” I pause midway through smearing the lipstick on my top lip.

“You know they fool around with everybody, right?”

“No, I mean the sister part,” I stutter.

She throws her hair back. “Oh, everyone in your school knew they were fucking around. I heard it from some friends who go there. They were a real foursome for like three months.”

The lipstick in my hand drops to the floor.

A foursome?

They … fucked around?

With my sister?

Her eyes flick to mine, and she frowns. “Wait … you didn’t know?”

I feel light-headed. Sick. Absolutely sick to my stomach.

“Hello?” Lana mutters when I don’t say a word.

But instead of answering her or throwing up into the toilet next to me, I bolt out the door.

FELIX

“Where’s Penelope?” I ask as I look around the room.

Dylan’s lips tear away from Alistair’s as he turns to look at me. “I think she went to the bathroom. I thought she’d be back by now?”

“No.”

Fuck. Something doesn’t feel right.

I push myself off the couch again. “I’m gonna go check.”

Her buddies are still on that same couch. What’s taking her so long?

Not to mention the fact that I haven’t seen Lana in a while, either. If she’s talking to Penelope behind my back, I’m gonna give her a fucking ear-splitting headache over it.
