Stefan huffed.
Adorably insane.
Yep.
“You’ve proven you can’t read my mind, so I won’t get frustrated that you didn’t realize I’d been planning my reward.” He looked so offended I couldn’t decide if he was faking it or if it was real. “However, that doesn’t matter. As far as I understand the rules of domination and submission, what I’ve planned is within your limits, so you need to safeword or be polite.”
Well, that wasn’t how I’d have worded it but he wasn’t too off base.
“I don’t guarantee polite.” I wasn’t going to promise something I couldn’t say for certain I could give him.
“Hmm.” Stefan was back to his thinking, cocked-head look. “You’re right. That’s probably an unreasonable expectation.”
At least we were on the same page with that part.
“The rules state I’m allowed to ask questions unless otherwise stated, and I didn’t agree to no questions.” I wasn’t sure he’d agree to that either based on how fast his brain jumped from one thought to another.
When the wheels started turning in his head again, it was easy to see he’d realized that problem. “I concede.”
Going back to his crossed-arms, serious look, he nodded. “You may ask questions as long as they are on topic. No listing off every random question you can think of just to drag things out.”
Had he been planning on that if he’d gotten nervous about something?
Had he overheard Kenzie planning some shenanigans like that?
“Agreed. As long as that rule applies to us both.” Yeah, that one wouldn’t just be for me. “You’re smart enough that a list like that could have us at a standstill for days.”
He nodded, not seeing any humor in the situation at all. “I could. Longer if I went from real life questions to ones about cryptids. I’ve got to reevaluate what’s provable and what’s not now.”
That could take…yeah, we were both going to have to agree to the no random questions rule.
So with that in order, I scrambled to figure out a question that would get me the information I wanted without offending my slightly skittish new sub. “Please tell me three reasons why you want to kiss me, besides the fact that a kiss is your reward.”
Head tilted to the side.
Studious expression.
Thoughtful hum.
He was in full librarian mode and I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or not. But he wasn’t upset in any way I could tell and he wasn’t throwing his notebook at my head, so I was doing my best to be patient.
By the time he straightened again and brought up one hand, I still wasn’t sure if I should be worried or not…but then a finger came up. “One—and these are not in order of importance, please understand that—you were naked earlier and have a very attractive body and penis.”
Another finger joined the first. “Two. As we have discussed in regard to the little side of things, I am orally focused. That does not change when I’m in a fully adult headspace. The number of chewed pencils I have around my house attests to that, but do not worry, I will not bite your penis.”
Librarians were so much fun.
The last finger popped up. “Third. While you may not approve of this one, I would like to see firsthand that you see me as someone you can dominate outside of the Daddy headspace you enjoy.”
Before I could respond, he kept going in full librarian mode. “I can’t question that you enjoy spending time with me as my Daddy, but as you’ve already explained, there will be several different sides of our relationship.”
His fingers went down before he started listing off things again and they came back up. “I see them as regular dating, traditional domination, and Daddy time. I would like to experience all three on our first date, and I think grown-up kissing would round out the first two nicely.”
They would, huh?
“It’s not an aggressive scene, but it would show us both how our attraction plays out when we have privacy.” Finally winding down, he gave a tiny sigh. “I’ve dated men in the past who enjoyed what they saw as my librarian side but who didn’t end up feeling passionate about me at all.”
Stefan’s face scrunched up. “Think of it as the gay dating equivalent of bringing a good girl home to meet your parents.”
Ugh.
That would suck.
When he paused and his shoulders relaxed, I realized it was my turn to respond. “First, thank you for being honest with me.”
And I had to admit, librarian mode was hot.
“Second, thank you for making sure your list was clear.” I really appreciated not having to sort through weird metaphors about what he wanted.
“Third, you’re right. I was going to instinctively push back on the third one, but your explanation made things understandable.” This wasn’t a hookup situation but him wanting to make sure I could see him as a sexy man and beautiful submissive wasn’t unreasonable.
