Doesn’t matter. After fucking her, I took her back to the hotel, but dropped her at the door. I wanted to drag her into my room like a goddamn caveman and ravish her fucking body all night long but I held back. Stupid maybe, but shit. I know enough to know I can’t rush a good thing.
So we travel to the next city, the next stadium, the next show. It’s all starting to blur together and we’re only on our third stop of this motherfucking monstrosity. I don’t know how they keep it all together through the whole thing.
At the venue, Katie goes through her whole thing and I keep out of her way. I don’t want to distract her, not too much at least. Jasper’s hanging around too, which makes me wonder why the motherfucker ain’t off doing his own job, but whatever, fuck him. It doesn’t matter.
The night goes like all the others. Katie gets on stage and wrecks it, absolutely fucking kills it. I’m surprised all over again at how easily I can fall into her routine and get into her show, even when I’m not really into that kind of music.
Fucking hell, the girl’s just magnetic.
Afterward, instead of a party in the green room, we head out to some club the promoter owns. It’s loud but it’s not too crowded, and I hover over the VIP area, watching out for everyone.
Katie doesn’t drink much, just sips a little wine, and listens to Jasper talk her ear off. I can’t help but watch her close, wondering when I’ll get a chance to taste that pussy next. She glances in my direction and quickly looks away, embarrassed that I catch her looking. I’m not embarrassed, though. I want her to know what’s on my damn mind.
“Why are you always just hovering around?”
I look over and Jasper’s leaning against the wall nearby, frowning at me over his phone. I don’t remember when he got up and walked over. I guess I’m too busy watching my fucking princess to notice this dick.
“It’s my job,” I grunt at him.
“Your job? You just stand around looking all pissed off. You should have a drink or something.”
“No thanks.” I look away from him, back out to the crowd.
“Oh, come on.” He comes closer. “Have a drink.”
“Fuck off.”
That surprises him. “Excuse me?”
“I said, fuck off. I’m not interested.”
His eyes go wide. “I’m offering you a drink, asshole. I’m trying to be nice.”
“Take your nice and shove it up your ass,” I say to him, not even bothering to look over.
“What… why… you can’t talk to me that way,” he manages to sputter. “You fucking monkey.”
I glance at him. “Call me a monkey again. See what happens.”
He opens his mouth and I stare at him. He makes the right decision though and shuts it again.
“I don’t know why we put up with you,” he says, as if he has any say in the matter. “You’re just some stupid piece of shit we pay to do our dirty work. You’re beneath me.” He’s sneering at me, and I want to wipe that look off his face.
But Katie comes over before I have the chance.
“Everyone okay?” she asks a little nervously.
“Fine,” I grunt.
“Just telling your bodyguard here just how important he is.” Jasper’s still sneering like a little punk.
“Jasper,” Katie warns.
“Why don’t you fire him?” he asks her suddenly, a little whine in his voice. “That ape attacked me and yet he’s still here. What the hell, Katie?”
“We went over this,” she says, sounding tired.
“I don’t care, I want him gone.”
“Jasper,” she says, but I step up to the little junkie shit.
“You should leave the girl alone,” I growl at him. “You twerp.”
He glares at me. “What are you gonna do, huh? Attack me again? You won’t have a good excuse this time.”
“I’m not sure I care,” I say, getting ready to smash his face in.
“Enough!” Katie says, stepping between us. “Oh my god, you two, enough. It’s like the most pathetic pissing match ever.”
I grunt at her and turn away from him. She’s right, I shouldn’t waste my time on this little piece of shit, but I can’t help it.
“What a stupid ape,” Jasper says. “He knows who his master is.”
I clench my fists and I turn back just in time to see Katie slap Jasper across the face.
I stare, a little stunned. Jasper looks just as surprised. I don’t think she hit him all that hard, but it clearly stung a little bit. He wasn’t expecting it, either.
“What the hell, Katie?” he snaps at her.
“Stop calling him that,” she says angrily. “I’m so sick of you being an asshole. Why don’t you just go back to the hotel?”
“Excuse me? I don’t feel like going back to the hotel.”
“Don’t be a child.” She glares at him, staring him down.
