“Might help get the Rykers under control,” the Fox said. “Why don’t you get Markovich to do something? Everyone comes to me, but I’m the one with two babies and a sweet girl to take care of.”

“Are they actual babies?” she whispered to Hack.

“No. He’s referring to Brody and Autumn. His Littles,” he whispered back.

Whoa. Two Littles and one Daddy? That sounded insane. She couldn’t share Hack. No way.

“Markovich is doing some research, but you know that he and Dahlia aren’t here at the moment,” Reyes said. “And he doesn’t have much to do with the cartels.”

“And you think I do?” the Fox murmured.

“We figured you know about everyone and everything,” Sunny told him.

“Ah, my sweet girl, you do have faith in me. And it’s well-placed. Now, I really need to go—”

“There’s one more thing,” Hack said quickly.

The Fox sighed. “I have a lot of patience, but you’re wearing it thin.”

“You have no patience,” Reyes muttered. Emme elbowed him in the stomach.

“I heard that,” the Fox said silkily.

“Have you ever interfered in Greer’s life?” Hack asked.

“Interfered in Greer’s life . . . who is Greer again?”

Was he being sarcastic or had he really forgotten about her?

“I’m Greer,” she said. Hack tightened his hold on her. Shoot. Should she not have spoken up?

“Right. Sav’s sister. I forgot. Why would I interfere in her life?”

“So you never sent her anything? Or intimidated her landlord or killed someone involved in an armed robbery of a diner?” Hack asked.

“Not that I recall. Now, I have to go. My friend is getting a bit sleepy. Come on friend, I’ll sing you a song to keep you awake. One, two, three, four, what shall the Fox cut? A finger, a toe or maybe a nut?” he sang.

The call ended.

“That was . . .” she trailed off.

“Terrifying?” Emme asked dryly. “That’s the Fox. But he loves and adores Sunny.”

Greer glanced over at Sunny, who shrugged and smiled. “He’s always protected me. It sounds like he’s not Greer’s stalker. Which seemed very unlikely.”

“But that leaves the question of who is,” Hack said tiredly. “How can we figure this out?”

“Did you ever notice anyone following you?” Reyes asked. “Was there anyone in your building that gave you weird vibes?”

“No. I never really went anywhere. There’s no one I can think of.”

“You date anyone in Savannah?” Spike asked.

“No. No one. Like I said, I rarely went anywhere.”

“She was on one of those kink sites,” Hack said. “She met a couple of so-called Daddies.”

She squirmed on his lap.

“That doesn’t sound safe,” Duke said with a scowl. “Does Sav know about that?”

“No,” she said in a high-pitched voice. “And I don’t want him to know. I’m not on it anymore. Well, I still have the account, but I don’t go on there anymore.”

“Anyone give you a creepy vibe?” Reyes asked.

“No. Well, actually, there was one guy. But he doesn’t know where I live, and I’ve only been on that site for eight or nine months.”

“Still worth a look,” Duke said. “I’ll call Ink tomorrow. He’s due back from looking at colleges with Royal and Baron. He can get Brody onto looking into anyone you’ve interacted with.”

“Thanks,” Hack said. “Can’t believe those boys are going to college soon.”

“No one can,” Reyes muttered. “College isn’t ready for them. Back to the problem, though.”

She winced. She hated being a problem.

“Once I talk to Ink, he or Brody will probably contact you for your password. There’s no one else?” Reyes asked. “A guy at your local grocery store? Someone who filled your gas tank regularly that might have stared a bit hard?”

“No. No one,” she said.

“I’ll contact the garage where we got her car fixed and see if I can get details of the person who paid for the bill,” Hack said. “They had to have given them credit card details.”

“Good,” Reyes said. “Don’t worry, Greer. We’ll find out who this is. Spike, you talk to Damon and see if he needs any help from us. I’ll hit up Markovich again about anything else he might know about Diaz. I’ll need to see if I can get a meeting with Wolfe, the leader of the Rykers. Fucking mess these idiots have gotten me involved in.”

There was a knock on the door that made her jump.

“Come in,” Reyes called out.

Butch stomped into the room. He still had blue hair. In fact, it looked almost worse. As if the slime had spread through his hair. “The bar is getting cleared out. I’ve spoken to those stupid dipshits. They reckon they were at a bar downtown when some Rykers started talking smack about the Iron Shadows, so they decided to follow them. Thought they had the upper hand on them since they outnumbered them. Didn’t realize that they had buddies close by. They escaped, but Johnson was knocked out.”

“And those dickheads left him there?” Reyes asked incredulously.
